It’s the Jewish month of Adar and sometimes it’s hard to figure out which of the news is for real and which a Purim joke. But this announcement that Trump will spearhead a crusade to legalize homosexuality worldwide seems for real. It leaves me stunned.
I’m not referring to his attacks on transgender troops. Or his disdain for marital fidelity. But it is hard to see some people upset all the rules.
Jews, shortly followed by homosexuals, have been the canary in the coalmine for a long time. They’re attacked first, after which all the other minorities and women follow.
- Yet, Putin hates gays and feminists but he loves Jews.
- Trump’s political and pre-political history is filled with racism accusations and he doesn’t seem particularly supportive of other minorities (handicapped), but he loves Jews. And now also gays. While his VP is a gay hater.
- Evangelicals love Jews but hate gays. I’m not saying all of them do — as a group they do. And can’t understand why Jews don’t hate them.
Bernie Sanders supports every oppressed group under the sun except Jews. “How can Israel be right if it receives so much criticism?” (With that argument you can support racism, sexism and any other oppression.) G^d forbid for Israel that he’d become US president. But that’s the norm, not the exception. Jews are attacked first. Sanders is the ideal person for that with his Jüdischer Selbsthaß — Jewish self-hatred.
It might be the biggest insult that British Jews-friendly run-away MPs could think of but comparing Corbyn to Trump won’t stand up. The extreme right and the extreme left hate Jews. Trump doesn’t.
Anyway, a worldwide campaign to decriminalize homosexuality is long overdue. It’s great anyone starts it. Even a nationalist bigot.
Put it next to the abolition of the death penalty — and there the US is way behind the civilized world.
It should be followed by a campaign to unmask the cure the gays therapies. Here is a great new clip about it.
It’s not true that there are no rules. But generalities are so hard to maintain, lately. But that might not be a valid law either. Ahhh …
