Israeli Food Network “Foody” Announces the Launch of Worldwide Sales of “Cooking Together,”  a Cookbook Celebrating Israel’s Western Negev Agriculture in collaboration with Kibbutz Be’eri

Tel Aviv— March 28th, 2024The Foody Group, a leading culinary ecosystem of Israeli food content, which includes the largest culinary TV channel and online food platform, announced today the release of the English version of “Cooking Together,” a cookbook produced in collaboration with Kibbutz Be’eri, a kibbutz overrun by Hamas on October 7th, 2023.

The book contains recipes that pay homage to the agricultural products of the Western Negev, decimated by Hamas on that ill-fated day, bringing a practical halt to its agriculture sector and businesses.

“What happened to us last year, the horrific loss of life and property, the kidnapping of our residents, and the devastation we all endured will be talked about for generations to come. However, considering the horrors we went through we have been able to turn darkness into light, all because of our brave soldiers, men, and women, and the wonderful Israeli society that stand with us since that day,” said Kibbutz Be’eri resident Haim Jellin, former head of the Eshkol Regional Council which represents the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip. The book, first published in Hebrew sold nearly 100,000 copies in record time. Proceeds from the book went to help restore the agricultural sector of the Kibbutz and ensure that workers could go back to work.

“People do not just bond while eating and sharing a meal, they also connect when cooking or preparing it together. Food is the cornerstone of any culture around the world. In difficult times, food has comforted people time and again. There is no better way to show support than through food,” said Michael Zimet, CEO of the Foody Network. “The response we had for the book in Israel led us to the decision that sharing it with Israel’s supporters around the world is the right thing to do, especially as support for Israel has waned recently,” added Zimet.

“Cooking Together” contains 30 recipes each highlighting various products grown in the Western Negev. Part of the proceeds of the book will continue to benefit the rehabilitation of Kibbutz Be’eri, its agricultural sector and its printing business which employs residents from the entire Negev region.

Books sold for $19.90, with a minimum order of 5, making them the perfect gift for the upcoming Passover holiday season. Worldwide shipping is free. Orders can be taken online.
