UN As In UN-believable

Iran named to chair UN Conference on Disarmament.

Iran has been elected as the rotating chair of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament for four weeks starting May 27.  The 65-nation Geneva-based group is the world’s only multilateral disarmament forum. The United States representative called the move “unfortunate and highly inappropriate” and said Washington would boycott any meetings in Tehran. Iran is under United Nations, European and American sanctions for refusing to halt its nuclear enrichment program, but so what, that’s just the way the UN works. And you can bet Iran will use its chairmanship as a platform to attack Israel.
