Understand Arab dictators speak to two audiences

If you’re not in Israel, you could believe the lies, so understand this.

For simplicity, I’m going to talk in generalities now. That doesn’t mean all Arab Nations, all of their populations, and every Arab are like that. Though Simon Peres used to say: ‘The rule is confirmed by the exceptions,’ we become racists and nationalists if we won’t acknowledge the exceptions.

The Arab ME world counts very few democracies. All other populations are ‘run’ by oligarchs. They steal from the people, transfer unbelievable amounts of money to private bank/crypto accounts, and most live in the lap of luxury while the population not seldom—forget about being poor—is starving. Any elections, press, judiciary, etc. they may have are fake.

These rulers have a whole set of tricks to stay in power. They have police intimidation instead of free speech, freedom of assembly, free election, etc. Preachers may help to ‘explain’ that God wants them to submit. Scolding and blaming an outside ‘enemy’ (Israel, of course) may help too.

An important tool is playing with words. When the population rises up, their TV news will report that the ruler ‘understands’ the people, fired some minister supposedly responsible, and will look into it, but meanwhile expects ‘responsible’ citizens not to be ‘divisive.’

Important to remember is that many Arab States have large groups of Palestinian ‘refugees.’ They often live in camps without any rights, no right to work, to vote, to move, you name it. Their ‘host’ country’s ‘leader’ must say terrible things about Israel to make sure they will not revolt.

The other citizens often are very antisemitic, not by their own fault. When Israel defends itself against murderers, the ruler must call Israel murderers to show the public he also hates Jews to prevent a revolt.

The other audience is the West. They say different things to them. But only after they convinced their populations that they too, want all Israelis dead.

Almost anything Arab leaders say is not worth paying attention to. It’s for local consumption and totally made up, the numbers, emotions, etc.

It means nothing, even if all dictators, all the news around you, and almost all of the UN agree. If all men say that women are weak, are they?

If you want to know what happens, you have no choice but to circumvent the antisemitic international press and tune in to mild Israeli news outlets.

Don’t get wounded by fake drama and injustice ‘committed’ by the Jews.

This short list doesn't mean to disrespect others who taught him a lot or a little. One of his rabbis calls him Mr. Innovation [Ish haChidushim]. Yet, his originalities seem to root deeply in traditional Judaism, though they may grow in unexpected directions. In fact, he claims he's modernizing nothing. Rather, mainly basing himself on the basic Hebrew Torah text, he tries to rediscover classical Jewish thought almost lost in thousands of years of stifling Gentile domination and Jewish assimilation. (He pleads for a close reading of the Torah instead of going by rough assumptions of what it would probably mean and before fleeing to Commentaries.) This, in all aspects of life, but prominently in the areas of Free Will, Activism, Homosexuality for men, and Redemption. * He hopes that his words will inspire and inform, and disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.
