What Can Kids Do On Election Day?
Election Day has become a real “Sunday” in Israel with schools closing and many offices and shops closed for the day. After you take your kids with you to vote (a great lesson in democracy) think of the rest of the day as a great day to bond with your kids.
Enjoy the “Sunday” atmosphere. Many of Jerusalem’s attractions will be having special events. Here are a list of our favorite and a link to the full list of events around town and just outside Jerusalem.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Special English ANNIE VIP event for kids and parents: One of my all time favorite movies has just been released as a remake. You will hear all your favorite Annie musical classics with a new plot twist. Enjoy the special Fun In Jerusalem discounted dairy Kosher VIP buffet (wow that’s lots of adjectives) before the show or purchase regular tickets if you prefer.
Galita and Kif Tzuba – Spend the day with your kids in Kibbutz Tzuba. Choose between the rides and games at Kif Tzuba or the chocolate workshops at Galita. Better yet…choose them both.
Kakadu – Park Adullam Art Festival in Matte Yehuda will celebrate the art & country cooking of the area. Visit the Kakadu Gallery and meet Reut the world renowned artist famous for her painted wood. Located just 20 minutes outside Jerusalem you will feel like you are in the “countryside”.
YamBaKarach: I am not sure if the winter is actually over but regardless of the weather outside, you can enjoy the new indoor skating rink at Cinema City. Use dolphin or penguin stabilizers for kids who unsure on the ice.
HaBoydem Fashion Show at First Station: Enjoy a fun afternoon at the First Station with a fashion show sponsored by HaBoydem, Flatter Boutique, Amanda K and Deborah. HaBoydem is an amazing second hand store in Talpiot that employs people with disabilities.
GIFT Happening at Matnas Ginot Hair Usishkin: In honor of elections the theme of the Day is “Giving” but they will make sure you have lots of fun as well.
Family Biking Trip in the Judean Hills: Enjoy some nature with your kids on Election Day. Uri will plan a customized biking trip for your family for kids of all ages and all levels. See some of Israel’s most beautiful landscapes just outside Jerusalem.
