What deal, what pressure

I am writing this at about 18 00 today-Monday-13 January 2025.

If there is anyone who reads my blogs, you know that I usually try to write my opinion on major issues or directions that I believe our country should take now or in the future.

However, this time I would like to express my opinion or my questions as to what is about to happen in Israel -and I mean the “Deal” that may happen in the next few hours or days! And I do this as I hear planes flying over my house in Haifa-what seems to be the real world right at this moment.

My question at this moment after listening to the news reports and watching the newscasters on television, is in plain English -what is “The Deal” –literally what is it? How many hostages are coming back and when are they coming back -what is Israel going to pay for its part of “The Deal”-what will the other side pay?

I have listened to many reports in the past few hours and all of the information, that we are receiving, really depends on how well connected are the news reporters to those making the news and very little real information based on real facts-on real documents -on real official announcements!

And part two is what is behind all of this new interest in a “Deal”. According to the news commentators it is Donald Trump’ s pressure on both sides-our side is Bibi!

What pressure?

From everything I hear or see it seems as if Bibi is about to do something he has not wanted to do for the past year and almost a half! And the rumors, about members of the Coalition, who will not support Bibi’s decision add to this feeling.

Either Bibi is about to support a decision to return all the hostages at the high price which Hamas has been demanding for months, a decision which could have been made months ago or he is supporting a decision to essentially bring back part of the hostages and then the rest -whatever “then” means. And we know what that may mean for the second group!

And what is the pressure that Trump is putting on Bibi to all do all of this? We are about to learn here in Israel who Trump really is!!

So I will wait until 20 00 tonight to maybe find out “What is the Deal”-

Hopefully, Bibi is going all the way, even if it is months too late for many of the original hostages but will be in time for the hostages who are still alive!!

As for what is the pressure put on all sides by Trump -well it looks like we may even find out what that pressure is, tonight!

But the main thing is that all of our hostages may come home-NOW!
