What Do You Tell a Father?

That his children are getting along nicely together. When that happens, the father is thrilled.

Right wing, left wing. We are children of our Father in heaven. And when we get along, He shines His presence to us.

“Bless us, our Father, all of us as one, with the light of Your visage,” we say in the last blessing of the daily Amida prayer. Sages comment, that this implies, that when we are united as one, that is when G-d blesses us with the warmth and light of His closeness, and “He blesses His people with peace.”

When we overlook the wrongs and injustices imposed on us by a sibling, then our Father rejoices, and overlooks our own faults. And then, we unite together, children and Father, as one, and the blessings and happiness shine.

And the entire world sees, and learns, how to live peacefully, ushering in the era of Redemption, when (Tzefaniah 3; 9) “the nations will all serve Him with one shoulder.”

May it happen soon.
