Why What Happened in Gaza May Not Happen in Ukraine

By firing cyberslings called drones against a national giant,

Ukraine may not prevent a miserable misfortune,

a David that’s in danger of defeat extremely soon,

though fighting against foes who are not less defiant

than Philistines against whom Jews now fight in Gaza,

because a President most zealously opposes Volodymyr Zelensky,

callously abusing rules like honi soit qui mal y pensky,

refusing to support him as he does family members of his raza,

as if mispronouncing the famed motto of the Order of the Garter,

transforming Volodymyr Zelensky into an unmessianic martyr.

“Honi soit qui mal y pense,” the motto of the Order of the Garter first pronounced by King Edward III in the 14th century, is an Anglo-Norman phrase that means “shamed be whoever thinks ill of it.” It has come to signify considerate noblesse oblige and dignity.
