Why writing articles is good for the soul

Unlike some deluded and dumb narcissists that are inconsequential in the grand scheme and small scheme of things, I have no illusions. If I were to be struck by a missile tomorrow, it would be barely registered by anyone. I use my time in this world to communicate my message by writing articles.

That’s why I write articles for Kyiv Post and share my views with people who are of consequence because they have access to VIPs and others. I can only hope my 30 Kyiv Post articles have reached someone like that. In fact, I know it.

People die all the time. A kid living in a poor slum could have changed the world. The kid dies. Nothing to eat. Someone else gets gunned down in the street or castrated by cartels, killed by a psycho, or stalked by a nutcase, abducted by terrorists, and, in case of my region of the world, a likely Russian nuclear strike in a relatively near future, be it openly or by proxy. I agree with Yuri Felshtinsky here. Russia might not do so openly, but a nuclear strike via Belarus, North Korea, a dirty bomb and blaming it on ISIS, and so on, is likely.

I don’t care what intel agencies, self-appointed experts and appeasers say. Russians are mostly a nation of proud, self-deluded, people with a slave-like mentality who are only good at lying, threatening and killing others. You have rarely contributed anything of substance to the world but death and destruction and you lack introspection of any kind. Gulag is the name of your game. Well, shove that gulag up your proud Russian ass. Go dance your ballet and keep threatening the world with nuclear destruction. I don’t care about your nuke threats and there are hundreds of millions like me. We’re past it now. Our future is in Lord’s hands.

Personally, my time in Moscow in 2008 was enjoyable. I took part in Russian language workshops in Pushkin Institute, a prestigious Russian language institute for foreigners, as I understand it, in case someone says I’ve no idea what Russia is like. I have some idea and my Russian is pretty fluent. But it doesn’t mean I’ve changed my mind about Russia. In fact, most people I’ve come across who lived in Russia share my sentiment.

In spite of all the human rights UN-esque talk, our civilization doesn’t really care about individuals. Am I wrong? People get killed by missiles and bullets all the time. No one really gives a damn apart from an immediate circles. Sure, there are exceptions, but that’s all they are.

And it doesn’t matter if it’s a dictatorship or a so-called democracy. At its core, we’re just a resource and our lives are mostly inconsequential to the powers that be. This isn’t a depressing realization. On the contrary, it’s liberating.

Find your voice. Screaming at the sky won’t change anything. And then, if you die tomorrow, at least you’ll know that you’ve done something to make this wretched world a better place as you – hopefully – move on to another adventure somewhere else in infinity with a smile on your face. If you get evaporated by a nuke, so what? At least you’ll have somethng to brag about in the afterlife. So, Z-Russians who revel in death and can’t wait to see me evaporated by a nuke – go to hell. Eternal ad is the only place you deserve.

Signed, from Poland with love.
