Rabbi Arik Ascherman served for 15 years as executive director of
Rabbis for Human Rights, and currently works on special projects and strategic thinking for the organization. RHR advocates for socioeconomic justice for Israelis, Palestinian human rigths, the Bedouin and African asylum seekers, has received the Speaker of the Knesset's Prize for contributions to israeli society and been endorsed by the North American rabbinic bodies of the Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Renewal movements, as well as the British Reform and Liberal movements. Rabbi Ascherman is a sought after lecturer, has received numerous prizes for his human rights work and has been featured in several documentary filims, including the 2010 "Israel vs Israel."
