Rabbi Dr. Haviva Ner-David is a rabbi and writer. She is the rabbinic director of Shmaya: A Mikveh for Mind, Body, and Soul, on Kibbutz Hannaton. Her most recent memoir, Chanah's Voice: A Rabbi Wrestles with Gender, Commandment, and the Women's Rituals of Baking, Bathing, and Brightening, was released this summer by Ben Yehudah Press. Her first memoir, Life on the Fringes: A Feminist Journey Towards Traditional Rabbinic Ordination, a runner up for the National Jewish Book Council Awards, was also reissued this summer by Ben Yehudah. She lives on Kibbutz Hannaton with her husband and seven children.
