The secret of the garments for the high priest is to restore the white garment of Adam and Eve that was lost in the Garden of Eden.
Adam and Eve were clothed in “garments of skin” כָּתְנוֹת עוֹר after the sin, from this it is derived by the rabbis that this is the corrupted version of the original “garments of light” כָּתְנוֹת אוֹר. Following this logic, it may be surmised that the original garment of light was the white garment הַבִּגְדֵי לָבָן.
Kabbalistically speaking, the Hebrew letters are essentially the vessels of light, hence when they are spelled out in full, it symbolizes the shining forth of the concealed light. When the names of Adam and Eve are spelled out and added to the white garment, the sum is 1179, as follows:

1179 is exactly the gematria of “for glory and for beauty” לְכָבוֹד וּלְתִפְאָרֶת in Ex 28:2:
|וְעָשִׂיתָ בִגְדֵי-קֹדֶשׁ, לְאַהֲרֹן אָחִיךָ, לְכָבוֹד, וּלְתִפְאָרֶת||And you shall make holy garments for
Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.
The original glory and beauty of Adam and Eve was evidently sabotaged by the evil one, who tempted Eve to be like God, knowing good and evil…(Gen 3:5).
The gematria of “white garment” הַבִּגְדֵי לָבָן is 106, which is exactly the same as “like God” כֵּאלֹהִים.
If we use soft mem (600) to calculate the gematria of “like God” כֵּאלֹהִים, it is immediately changed from 106 to 666, exactly the number of the beast, which is that evil one.
The glory of man is his head, which is Mashiach, being the collective soul of man known as Yechidah יְחִידָה, the singular one.
It follows that the headpieces are for glory, which are two. One is called the plate, engraved with Holy to YHVH and is placed on the forehead:

888 is the gematria of “salvation of our God” יְשׁוּעַת אֱלֹהֵינוּ in Psalm 98:3 which is Mashiach.
The other headpiece is called the “turban of fine linen” מִצְנֶפֶת שֵׁשׁ (Ex 28:39), the gematria is 1260. When the two headpieces for glory are combined:
888 + 1260 = 2148 = 6 x 358
358 is the gematria of Mashiach מָּשִׁיחַ, and 6 is the number of man, hence for glory is revealed in Mashiach as the “head” of man.
If for glory is of the head (of man), then for beauty is of the torso (of man). The torso in the Sefirot is known as the beauty תִּפְאֶרֶת of man (Jacob).
The three coverings for the torso are tunics, cloak, and apron, their gematria is exactly that of “For Beauty” לְתִפְאָרֶת, which is 1111:
The torso is the analogy for the trunk of the tree, which is Jacob (center) that encapsulates Abraham (right) and Isaac (left). 12 branches are issued from the trunk known as the 12 tribes of Israel, the Hebrew for “branch” שָׁבֶט is the same as “tribe”. Mashiach is called the root שֹׁרֶשׁ (of Jesse). The branches are connected with the root through the trunk, their gematria is also 1111:
This comes to teach us that tree is the analogy of an upside down man, in that the root of tree is the head of man.
For this reason the names of the 12 tribes of Israel were engraved on the two onyx stones on the apron.
In the same way the root of the tree is hidden in the ground, so is Mashiach hidden from the children of Israel. The rabbinical tradition to cover the head would symbolize such concealment of the Mashiach.
Mashiach is the King of Israel מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל, the final letter of King is Kaf כ which means the crown as in Keter כֶּתֶר. When the gematria for Sofit Kaf ך (which is 500) is used, the gematria of King of Israel מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל is transformed to 1111, exactly that of root and branch, also the three coverings for the torso, for beauty.
There are 12 precious stones in the breastplate symbolizing the 12 tribes of Israel.
Also within the breastplate are the Urim and Tumim אוּרִים וְתֻמִּים. Urim means light and Tumim means innocence, representing the original light and innocence that was lost in the Garden of Eden.
There are 9 precious stones in the Garden:
|בְּעֵדֶן גַּן-אֱלֹהִים הָיִיתָ, כָּל-אֶבֶן יְקָרָה מְסֻכָתֶךָ אֹדֶם פִּטְדָה וְיָהֲלֹם תַּרְשִׁישׁ שֹׁהַם וְיָשְׁפֵה, סַפִּיר נֹפֶךְ וּבָרְקַת וְזָהָב||You were in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the carnelian, the topaz, and the emerald, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the carbuncle, and the smaragd, and gold…(Ezekiel 28:13)|
The exact 9 precious stones are set in the 1st, 2nd and 4th row in the breastplate of the high priest. The 3 stones in the 3rd row that are not mentioned in the Garden are: לֶשֶׁם שְׁבוֹ,וְאַחְלָמָה, translated as a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst (Ex 28:19).
Now the root for אַחְלָמָה is חלם, which means to restore to health, hence the three stones can be understood hyperliterally as: return (שָׁבוּ) to the name (לְשֵׁם), and I will restore you (אַחְלָמָה), which would hint to restoring to the light (Urim) and innocence (Tumim) in the Garden.
At the simple level the King of Tzor in Ezekiel 28:12-19 was a historical figure; at a deeper level, this hints to the primordial snake in the Garden.
He is called the “covering cherub” כְּרוּב הַסֹּכֵךְ (Ezekiel 28:16) and his problem is three-folds:
|גָּבַהּ לִבְּךָ בְּיָפְיֶךָ, שִׁחַתָּ חָכְמָתְךָ עַל-יִפְעָתֶךָ; עַל-אֶרֶץ הִשְׁלַכְתִּיךָ לִפְנֵי מְלָכִים נְתַתִּיךָ–לְרַאֲוָה בָךְ||Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness; I have cast you to the ground, I have laid you before kings, that they may gaze upon you. (Ezekiel 28:17)|
In summary, this figure has a gematria of 666, exactly the number of the beast:

The primordial snake’s primary target was Adam and Eve. The gematria of Adam אָדָם and Eve חַוָּהis 64, and the triangle number of 64 (i.e. the sum of 1 to 64) is 2080, which is exactly the gematria of the following description of the King of Tzor:
|אַתָּה חוֹתֵם תָּכְנִית מָלֵא חָכְמָה וּכְלִיל יֹפִי||You sealed the sum, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty (Ezekiel 28:12)|
The mirror image of 64 is 46, and the triangle number of 46 (i.e. the sum of 1 to 46) is 1081, which is the gematria of beauty תִּפְאֶרֶת. It may be surmised that the motive of the primordial snake was to steal the glory and beauty from Adam and Eve.
The Hebrew word for snake is נָּחָשׁ, the gematria is 358, the cure is Mashiach מָּשִׁיחַ, having the same gematria 358, as the cure is in the cause.
This is exactly what the breastplate represents, the cause as well as the cure, for the breastplate in Hebrew is called Choshen חֹשֶׁן, which is the permutation of the three letters of snake נָּחָשׁ.
Similarly, the King of Tzor מֶלֶךְ צוֹר has a gematria of 386, exactly the gematria of Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ, the name of the Mashiach, again the cure is in the cause, fittingly.
The 3rd Row
What’s the secret of the stones in the 3rd row?
To answer this question we must first understand how are the letters engraved on the 12 stones. According to the rabbis, there are 72 letters in total, of which 50 letters are from the names of the 12 children of Israel and 22 letters are from the names of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribe of Jeshurun, so that all 22 Hebrew letters are represented.
It follows that there are 6 letters engraved on each stone.
In what order are the names of the 12 tribes engraved? According to one opinion, it is by their birth order.
If we follow the opinion the each tribe is engraved in one stone, and the letters of the fathers are dismantled and simply used to complete the 6 letters for each stone as required, the 72 letters can be arranged as follows, with the red letters indicating as the fillings to complete 6 letters for each stone:

The gematria of the 3 stones in the third stones is:
The gematria of Urim and Tumim אוּרִים תֻמִּים is 747.
Since the letters engraved on the stones are to be illuminated by the light from the Urim and Tumim as an oracle from God, hence the letters, the stones, the Urim and Tumim essentially work in unison, and specifically:

Astonishingly, 3580 = 358 x 10, where 358 is the gematria of the snake נָּחָשׁ, the breastplate חֹשֶׁן and Mashiach מָּשִׁיחַ. It may be surmised that even though the 3 stones in the 3rd row are not mentioned in the Garden, but they were in fact in the Garden and disguised as the snake, who was called the King of Tzor מֶלֶךְ צוֹר, which can also be understood as the King of Stone מֶלֶךְ צוּר. The fact that all 12 stones are now all set in the breastplate would symbolize the complete rectification of the evil one by the power of Mashiach and his 12 branches.
Eve is called the mother of all living אֵם כָּל-חָי, the gematria is 109, when 109 is multiplied by the name Eve חַוָּה which is 19, the product is 109 x 19 = 2071, exactly the gematria of the 18 letters engraved on the stones in the 3rd row, hinting to the rectification of Eve.
The Light in Exile
After the sin of Adam, the light of God was effectively withdrawn from the world and is since in exile, the residual glory is identified with the holy name Adonai אֲדֹנָי.
If the withdrawn of light is by the act of contracting, the restoration of the light would be by the act of expanding, i.e. spelling out the letters, hence we can restore (reverse engineer) the original light of God by spelling out the name Aodnai as follows:

Based on the normative spelling out of Tav as תו, the 2nd level spelling out would have 34 letters. However, if we are to insert an extra Yud to תיו, symbolizing the shining forth of light, the total number of letters above is thus rendered to exactly 51.
The holy name YHVH has a gematria of 26, and if we make 26 as the midpoint, 25 integers before and 25 integers after, the end point is exactly 51, hence 51 represents the restoration of the light of YHVH.
If we compare Adonai to a pregnant mother, then the 12 letters (1st level spelling out) would be her sons, and the 35 letters (2nd level spelling out) would be her sons’ sons. Thus If we subtract 65 (the gematria of Adonai) from 2618, we’re essentially focusing on the sons and grandsons that were previously hidden within Adonai, the gematria is thereby reduced to 2618 – 65 = 2553, which is 37 x 69.
37 is the gematria of Yechidah יְחִידָה, the name of the highest level of the soul of man, the intermediary between the infinite God and the finite man, the Mashiach.
69 is the difference in gematria of Alef א and Ayin ע, where Alef is the original garment of light and Ayin the corrupted garment of skin. From Alef to Ayin is descent, and from Ayin to Alef is ascent, and the initial decent is for the ultimate ascent.
The formula 37 x 69 therefore would represent a two-way street. The manifestation of the infinite God in the finite man (Mashiach) is a descent, in order for the bride from the lowest of the low be gathered and elevated as an offering to God, this is ascent.
If we subtract 51 (total number of letters) from 2618, the gematria is reduced to 2567, which is exactly the gematria of the eight garments, as follows:
Additionally, there are exactly 34 letters in the above eight Hebrew words for the eight garments, corresponding to the 34 letters in the 2nd spelling of Adonai (without the extra Yud), as above.
If we change the “linen pants” to simply “pants” מִכְנָסַיִם, the gematria is increased by 34 rendering the total sum to 2601, which is exactly 51 squared, pointing back to the 51 letters of Adonai, as above.
Additionally, 2601 = 17 x 153, where 153 is the triangle number of 17, i.e. the sum of 1 to 17, thus:
2601 = 17 (1+2+3…+15+16+17)
17 is the gematria of “good” טוֹב, which is light, and 153 is the gematria of “Sons of God” בְּנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים, symbolizing the Children of God and the fish that was caught at the sea.
The Rectification of Adam and Eve
Of the 8 garments, only 7 are actually for glory and beauty, the pants are only for modesty.
For this reason, the pants are mentioned last in Ex 28:42, after glory and beauty are mentioned, specifically to cover the nakedness of flesh.
If we calculate the gematria of the 7 garments only, the gematria is 2381:
There are exactly 5 materials used to make the 8 garments (Ex 28:5):
|וְהֵם יִקְחוּ אֶת-הַזָּהָב, וְאֶת הַתְּכֵלֶת וְאֶת-הָאַרְגָּמָן, וְאֶת-תּוֹלַעַת הַשָּׁנִי, וְאֶת-הַשֵּׁשׁ||And they shall take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the fine linen.|
Contrary to building the tabernacle, when the 5 materials are listed here, they are invariably prefixed with אֶת-הַ, which can be understood hyperliterally as “you” אַתָּה.
In light of what’s been studied last week in Parashat Terumah, what’s been hinted here could be understood as: they shall take your Binah (gold), your Tiferet (blue), your Netzach (purple), your Hod (scarlet) and your Yesod (fine linen) and make the garments.
It may be surmised that these are the 5 attributes that Adam and Eve were blemished in the Garden. If we add number 5 to the gematria of the seven garments above: 2381 + 5 = 2386.
Astonishingly, 2386 = 452 + 192, i.e. the sum of the square of Adam (45) and Eve (19), meaning the consummation of their rectification.
Eve to Adam is Aaron to Moses
Moses symbolizes the rectified Adam and Aaron symbolizes the rectified Eve. The sin of Eve was that she usurped the authority of Adam, in rectification Aaron became the mouth piece of Moses (Ex 4:16).
According to the rabbis, God braided Eve’s hair and made her beautiful and brought her before Adam. Hair corresponds to head, which is for glory; and beauty corresponds to torso, which is the backside (rib) of Adam from where Eve was separated, the gematria for backside צֵּלָע is 190, 10 times the gematria of Eve חַוָּה, hinting to the full beauty of the bride, as it were.
In rectification, Moses made Aaron beautiful by making the priestly garments and brought him before God in the tabernacle.
There are three things associated with wife in rabbinical tradition: 1) lighting the candle; 2) bread; 3) unclean for 7 days before marital intimacy.
Aaron is intimately associated with the three vessels in the Holy Place: 1) lighting the candlestick; 2) showbread; 3) altar of incense.
Moses had to prepare Aaron for 7 days before Aaron can assume the office on the 8th day (Lev 9:1), alluding to the 7 days of uncleanness, as there are exactly 7 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur on which day Aaron entered into the Holy of Holies with the altar of incense קְטֹרֶת, and קָטְרָה in Aramaic means bond, i.e. wife having marital relation with her husband after 7 days of uncleanness.
This sheds light on two episodes that involved Aaron as the culprit but he was never held liable.
In the golden calf incident, Aaron made an idol, 3,000 people died, and all first-borns lost their priesthoods as a result, Aaron came out unscathed.
Similarly, when both Miriam and Aaron spoke evil speech against Moses, Miriam was punished by leprosy, but not a single blame was placed on Aaron.
This comes to teach us that Aaron represents the rectified bride in her glory and beauty, and the bride may not be perfect and could be negligent, but it is her husband to defend and indemnify her sin. This at the simple level alludes to Moses as the rectified Adam, at the deeper and collective level this alludes to Mashiach as the ultimate redeemer for his bride:
Astonishingly, 1078 is exactly the full spelling out of Adam and Eve, as follows. Note that in this spelling the letter used to spell out Hey is Yud, hinting to the full emanation of Divinity, and the entry from this world of Hey to the next world of Yud:
