Blogger and Rackspace Startup Liaison Officer, Robert Scoble travels the world connecting and meeting with startups. He’s coming to Israel this coming May for WearableTech Israel, which takes place in Tel Aviv on May 12.

Founded by Julien Blin and Nir Kouris, the event will feature ten Israeli wearable startups, innovative technologies, leading thought leaders and industry players, including Sonny Vu, Misfitwearables CEO, high profile tech venture capitalists, including Jon Medved, OurCrowd CEO, demos and of course lots of networking opportunities at the amazing offices of Infinity AR, which has absolutely, positively, has the best rooftop office workspace (take a video tour I shot here) of any company I have ever visited in Israel. If you’re in the country, or planning to visit Israel in May, I would encourage you to sign up sooner than later, as the event will be limited to 500 attendees. And if you’re a hacker, there’s a daylong hackathon the day before.

Robert and his co-author, Shel Israel, have recently published Age of Context: Mobile, Sensors, Data and the Future of Privacy. The book frames what could be much of guidebook to where Israel’s innovation and start-up economy has the opportunity to advance. In the age of mobile, data, sensors and location-based technology, layered with the social web, you have what the authors describe as the contextual operating system – something you can gain a better insight into at Israel’s first wearable’s event.
