The world we live in today is intertwined on many fronts. It’s powered with an abundance of content and data that give customers the accessibility to products and services that will empower their personal or professional lives. It’s easy to think that with all these connections and information that product sales would be at an all time high and companies would be swimming in dollar bills. But it’s not as simple as 1, 2, 3. Customers can be tough cookies to crack, and it all starts with how you pique their interest and interactively engage them.

Briefly stated, customer engagement includes the premise to encourage your customers to interact and contribute to the experiences you create for them, as a business and a brand. If you can perform this successfully, you’ll be able to build a stronger relationship with your customers rooted in loyalty.

As per usual, Israeli startups are the forerunners in innovation. We don’t need to look too far to find the ones changing the realm of consumers. Here are 3 shining examples of Israeli startups that are paving the way for how we engage and engross our customers. Let’s get started with…

Three Israeli Startups

At the heart of everything, it’s important to understand that every customer wants to feel you understand their needs and that they can relate to your brand. The idea is to try to humanize your brand, in a way that is genuine and not forced. By creating a personality you’ll be able to become a leader who gives a voice to a brand and engage your audience.

A leading Israeli startup, Toonimo, is changing the customer experience paradigm by innovating how we use the web. Founded in January 2013 by Ohad Rozen and Dan Kotlicki, Toonimo adds an overlay of customized graphics and natural voice to a web-page, creating a humanized feeling. These personalized tools walk and talk people through all elements on a webpage. The solution keeps people engaged on the site and augments the user experience without controlling it. The customer’s engagement is guaranteed by actively guiding them using behavior-based triggers.

Serial entrepreneur Ishay Green, along with Nadav Shoval, lists Spot.IM, the first ‘everywhere’ social network, as his fifth community-based social startup. The tool offers any and all website owners to adapt customized chat ‘spots’ onto their sites, allowing for a cohesive, centralized location for stealthy community cultivation. Dedicated website owners can drive social content in the directions of their choosing, allowing for more command over the conversations surrounding the company’s content.

Websites already generate communities even though they remain largely unseen; spot.IM brings these communities to life by allowing like-minded individuals to connect and bond over mutual interests and shared attactions, all in real-time. On the other side of the spectrum, the company adapting a ‘spot’ reaps in benefits from increased time and activity spent on the site, heightened exposure of the website’s associated content, as well as analytical insights on community members to better understand and serve them.

Bontact are a fresh startup from Microsoft Ventures, founded by Sari Roth, this promising start up has already raised one million dollars. Bontact is a smart multi-channel communication platform that enables users to communicate with site owners via Live Chat, Callback, Text (SMS) and Email all in one place. By enabling the Bontact widget on your site, you can connect with your visitors in real time. If a visitor arrives on your site and has various queries. he/she can “live chat” via the widget and expect to be replied to with the relevant information in real time on various communication channels. They can choose to communicate to you on their preferred one.

Consumers often stray away from site due to a lack of support and they feel as though they are talking to a robot with generic auto-responses. Using live chat, like Bontact, may actually increase your conversion rate, because you (or one of your customer service staff) can personally help the customers to take action.

Israeli startup pioneers are leading the way in customer engagement. Their innovative and creative spirit propels their ability engage any customer. Are you ready to get on the road toward better customer engagement?
