5 Reasons Why Palestinians Win Wars

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a massive attack on the Jewish State. In response, Israel launched a defensive military campaign to retrieve their citizens. Over 500 days have passed since the war started, Gaza lies in ruins, and yet, Hamas leaders still announce that they have achieved victory. One Hamas official proclaimed: “In terms of numbers, Gaza has paid an unimaginable price. But in terms of gains and losses, Israel failed to break the will of the Palestinians, the resistance, or to push the people out of the country.” This raises the obvious question: How can the Palestinians still proclaim themselves to be the winners, when the physical evidence always appears to imply the opposite?
Five Reasons Why Palestinians Win Wars:
1. Israeli Restraint:
Israelis are concerned with never killing an innocent person; so, they never use anything close to their full potential military power. Professor John Spencer is a combat veteran and the head of Urban Warfare Studies at West Point. He correctly pointed out that Gaza was transformed into an underground fortress, and therefore it is far more difficult to prevent civilian casualties than simply fighting in a normal urban area. Despite this enormous challenge, Spencer has visited Gaza and documented how the Israeli soldiers perform at one of the highest ethical standards of any military in human history. When an army is fighting against an opposing enemy, then it is possible to compare the number of combatants killed to the number of civilians who perished in the skirmishes. Israel kills far fewer civilians than essentially any other modern army during combat. Based on the empirical evidence, Professor Spencer observed: “The IDF uses tactics that no army has ever seen to prevent harm to civilians.”
2. Jihad Denial:
The Ottoman Empire spanned across the entire Middle East and was ruled by a powerful Muslim king, called the Caliph. After World War I, the Ottoman Empire was crushed by the British troops and the caliphate kingship position was abolished. For the Arabs living in the region, they were left with two choices: either continue fighting to restore the caliphate, or embrace nationalism and allow the empire to be chopped into countries. In 1928, a young Egyptian school teacher named Hassan al-Banna decided to develop a community devoted to restoring the supremacy of the Muslim Caliphate. The group was called The Muslim Brotherhood.
In 1987, Hamas was founded in Gaza as an offshoot of The Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas is an acronym that stands for: “The Islamic Resistance Movement.” In the desert past, The Prophet Muhammad was recorded as predicting that there would be a final battle between the Muslims and the Jews at the end of time. Muhammad declared: “The Day of Judgment would not come about until the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims will kill them.” The 1988 Hamas Charter repeats this ominous directive from Muhammad, and Hamas believes that they are called to fight this ultimate war of annihilation against the Seed of Isaac. Thus, the root cause of the conflict is Islamic Jihad.
Many well intentioned people are concerned with finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. One proposed solution is to create a Palestinian State located next to Israel, which will be located on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This theory is called, “The Two-State Solution.” Hamas is opposed to The Two-State Solution because it means that Israel will still be allowed to remain a country. Instead, Hamas believes that the Jewish State has to be brushed out of the way to make way for the glorious return of the Muslim kingdom. The Palestinians can win wars because the international community always pretends that Hamas is fighting to establish The Two-State Solution.
3. The Destruction of Gaza is Treated like a Natural Disaster.
The international community treats Gaza as if it were always damaged by a natural disaster, rather than by a human decision. Unlike Gaza, the Philippine Islands are regularly destroyed by a typhoon cycle. The Filipinos can’t help this situation, and it makes sense to come to their aid. In contrast, all of the carnage in Gaza is caused because the Palestinians keep antagonizing Israel into engagements. Nevertheless, the damage is always treated as if it were caused by a natural disaster, and thus everyone must rush to their aid.
4. Palestinians Receive Infinite Money.
As soon as the Palestinians start a war, dozens of leaders start racing to be the first nation to announce that they will rebuild Gaza. In fact, the Palestinians have received more free international money than any group of people in human history. In 1947, President Harry Truman offered the position of Secretary of State to George Marshall. After the end of World War II, Marshall and the allied countries masterminded an idea called the Marshall Plan to send money to rehabilitate Germany. The allies distributed welfare for roughly four years. In sharp contrast, the Palestinians have been receiving international welfare for seventy five years. The Palestinians will always receive infinite free money.
In 2002, a study was conducted that showed that “the Palestinians have already gotten more than four times as much as the Europeans got from the Marshall Plan.” But, this study was conducted twenty years ago. Today, it is possible that the Palestinians have received ten, or even twenty, times as much as the Germans received per person under the Marshall Plan. The objective of the international community should be to dethrone Hamas from their rulership; instead, the top priority of the international community is to buy the Palestinians new homes. The Palestinians can win wars because they will always be given free money to resupply and rebuild.
5. Palestinians are Eternally Promised a State.
The more Jews the Palestinians murder, the more the Palestinians are rewarded with the promise of a state. After Hamas terrorists broke through the Israeli border fence and went from house to house murdering Jewish civilians, burned Jewish babies alive, raped scores of Jewish girls, and slaughtered Jewish kids at a music festival, then the countries of Spain, Norway, and Ireland rewarded them by recognizing a Palestinian State. As AP News reported: “Spain, Norway and Ireland formally recognized a Palestinian state on Tuesday in a coordinated effort by the three Western European nations to add international pressure on Israel to soften its response to last year’s Hamas-led attack.” French President Macron added: “We owe it to Palestinians.”
The Pope, the President of Russia, the President of China, the American presidents, all of the leaders of the United Nations, and all of the leaders of the Arab countries, promise to give the Palestinians a state. The European Union announced that no matter what happens: “Gaza is an integral part of a future Palestinian state.” Even while Israeli hostages are rotting in tunnels, the 38th African Union Summit meeting, which essentially represents every country in Africa, invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to give a speech warning of the dangers of trying to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian State. The Palestinians can win wars because all of the countries in the United Nations promise them that they will remain in power.
In Conclusion:
In conclusion, as long as the Palestinians know that the Israelis will always show extreme military restraint, they will be treated as if they were the victims of a natural disaster, given infinite free money, eternally promised a state, and never have to reform their radical Islamic beliefs, then they can’t really lose a war. They will always have hope that they are going to win in the end.
