A Call for Unity Beyond Political Lines

In today’s polarized world, it’s easy to get caught up in partisan divides. As President of the United Jewish Coalition, I remind our community we must remember that we are united on one fundamental front: our shared heritage and commitment to Judaism. Israel stands as the Jewish homeland, a central pillar of our identity and existence. This should be our focal point, regardless of whether we identify as Republicans, Democrats, or belong to any other political party.

Our fight is for our collective existence and safety. The world can be a dangerous place, and unfortunately, there are those who harbor hatred toward our community. It’s crucial to rise above the noise of political affiliations and focus on what truly matters: the preservation of our Jewish heritage and the security of our families for generations to come.

As Netanyahu stated in front of Congress this last week, “If we stay together, we win together, and they lose.” We cannot let our enemies make us be divided but rather united. We’re a lot stronger together as one front as Jews.

It’s not about blindly aligning with a political figure based on party lines. For example, if Kamala Harris, Candace Owens, or any leader, exhibits animosity towards Jews, then they do not deserve our support. Conversely, if Gavin Newsom, or any other leader stands in solidarity with the Jewish community, then they warrant our backing. This is not a matter of party politics; it’s about recognizing and supporting those who uphold our right to exist and thrive as a Jewish people.

This call for unity extends to all segments of our community, including those in influential sectors such as Hollywood. Many Jewish individuals in Hollywood have historically supported Democratic candidates, often aligning with the broader liberal values prevalent in the entertainment industry. However, it is essential for Hollywood Democrats to also have an open mind and consider the broader implications of their political support.

It’s time for Hollywood Jews to recognize the importance of our collective unity. This means looking beyond traditional party lines and supporting leaders who truly stand with the Jewish community, regardless of their political affiliation. The preservation of our Jewish heritage and the safety of our people should take precedence over any political loyalty.

Similarly, Republicans within our community must hold their party accountable for giving platforms to individuals like Candace Owens, who have made statements that can be perceived as harmful to the Jewish community. Fighting against virulent antisemitism anywhere it arises is essential, whether it comes from the left, right, or anywhere in between.

By encouraging open-mindedness and fostering a spirit of unity, we can bridge the divide that has been created by partisan politics. Hollywood, with its vast influence and reach, can play a crucial role in this effort. By joining hands with Jews from all political backgrounds, we can present a united front that is much stronger and more resilient.

Let us come together, not as partisans, but as a united Jewish community. By doing so, we can ensure the safety, heritage, and future of our people for years to come.
