A corona call to the nations from Jerusalem

I call upon all the nations on earth to seize the opportunity offered by the universal corona virus threat to all of humanity to at long last let peace reign permanently on our planet and make wars and threat of war a distant memory in the post-corona world that will eventually be created. The alarming epidemic has shown each and everyone of us how insignificant we really are and how powerless when facing a threat of such magnitude, and that only by peace and peaceful cooperation on the part of all the nations can we overcome and survive such terrible threats.

For too long, almost from man’s first appearance on earth, hatred and prejudice have throughout the generations erupted into cruel wars costing millions of innocent lives. And all because the nations and their leaders have stubbornly and stupidly refused to heed the prayers of ordinary people who, unlike their power-hungry leaders with their increasingly deadly weapons of destruction, realize what the blessing of peace in a world ruled by peace and peace-loving leaders can mean for a happy human life and for the prosperous and praiseworthy future of the world itself – a world devoid of war and the crazed obsession with power and superiority, translating unfailingly into a world torn and rent by unending conflict and destruction.

It is as if we have learnt nothing in the blood-filled school of history with all our innovation and modernization, but at this precise moment the corona virus is implacably and painfully teaching all of us, and all of our leaders and nations, that we are facing an enemy against which we are currently powerless and impotent, and only when, at some as yet unknown time in the future, it will leave our broken and disrupted world will human beings on earth be able to begin rebuilding the shaken foundations of their lives.

We must see the corona epidemic as a wake-up call to the nations, the leaders, to all ordinary human beings wherever they are in the world, to once and for all abandon the tragic and inexorable march of history towards nuclear war and the final extinction of the human race.

But the question remains: Will the nations and their leaders and humanity as a whole finally learn what corona is teaching us – that human beings and humanity as a whole must live in a world ruled by peace and peaceful cooperation and by leaders who have forsworn war and conflict in order to build a new and happier world.

And so here,  housebound in the corona-struck city of Jerusalem, I call upon the leaders of all the nations, without exception, to seize this Heaven-sent opportunity to change the conflict-cursed course of human history, and the moment that the world becomes corona-free, to gather together as one man and declare their unanimous and irrevocable decision to forever forsake the path of war and conflict and dedicate themselves and their peoples to create a new and far better world for us all to live in happily, a new proud world of peace, peaceful cooperation and prosperity.

You may say that all the above is simply beyond belief, and that after the corona pandemic pandemonium has passed the world will remain unrepentantly conflict-plagued as it was before, but I firmly believe that thanks to the corona we and our leaders will at last realize that peace, not war and conflict, must and can and will reign in our world.
