A Distressed Nation

I live in Polk County, Florida. My wife and I moved here in 2020 shortly after I retired. In 2023 Polk County was the fastest growing county in Florida with some 20,000 new registered residents in that year alone. Many of the new residents are retirees fleeing inadequately policed and crime ridden cities in states like New York and California.

The sheriff of Polk County, Sheriff Grady Judd, has been rated one of the best sheriffs in the US by conservative groups. He is a no nonsense upholder and enforcer of the law. A few years back his men shot and killed a man who was trying to kill them in an armed assault. A reporter asked Sheriff Judd why his men had shot this guy some 60 plus times. His response was that his men only shot the armed assailant 60 plus times because they had run out of bullets! Polk County is a no nonsense county. It is a very safe place to live.

There are more law abiding American patriots in Polk County than there are law breaking anti-Americans, by far. As an honorably discharged Vietnam era Marine, a member of our local American Legion and a member of our home owners association, I am honored when we pledge allegiance to the flag and pray to the God of the Bible before every membership meeting. On karaoke night at the Legion they sings songs with lyrics such as; “Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk, car jack an old lady at a red light, pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store, you think it’s cool, well, act a fool if you like. Cuss out a cop, spit in his face, stomp on the flag and light it up, yeah you think you are tough? Well, try that in a small town, see how far you make it down the road. Around here we take care of our own. You cross that line, it won’t take long for you to find out. I recommend you don’t try that in a small town.” ( i ). The right to bear arms is heavily exercised in this county and, per the second amendment to our Constitution, our Sheriff upholds our legal right to defend ourselves, our families and our homes.

I realize that our “small town” in Polk County, FL. is just a small microcosm of US society and it certainly is not a reflection of what the rest of the country looks like, but when one compares conservatively run states/cities/counties with the liberally run states/cities/counties the contrast is stark. Before my wife and I retired to Florida we lived and worked for many years in Oklahoma and Texas. The same patriotic attitude found in Polk County, FL, is alive and well in many cities and towns in those two states as well. If it weren’t for the news, reporting on the pro-Palestine / anti-Israel / anti-Jew insurrectionists currently running amok in some of our universities and cities, or reporting on the persistent undermining of the Israel government by the current US government, or on the ignorant political statements being made by famous sports personalities and famous television and movie actors trying desperately to sound intelligent when they clearly lack intelligence, one would think that everything was fine here in the US. Well, it is clearly not fine.

The news media makes its living by reporting the bad news. Good news doesn’t warrant a headline unless such “good” news supports the biased liberal narrative being promulgated by a particular news organization. But the fact of the matter is that the US is very quickly becoming a third world country, a country ripe for destruction, and destruction from within. I don’t say this lightly. An open border, a corrupt judicial system, a corrupt government, over 33 trillion dollars of debt, a drug epidemic, a homeless epidemic, societal and racial divisions of very kind and an immoral Godless society leads to nothing good. History proves this, does it not?

With regards to the US, if one can keep up with news out of the US on a daily basis, almost impossible even on an hourly basis, there should be no question that what I just said about the US becoming a third world country is true. And the singular biggest contributor to this decline is the rejection of Biblical Christianity. Recent statistics show that there are more Christian churches closing than there are new ones opening. In addition many Christian denominations are so far removed from sound Biblical teaching that they are hardly recognizable, and the list is growing. I’ve done extensive research on this subject and I know what I am talking about.

When we, in the case of the US, take the God of our Judeo-Christian heritage out of our society then something else is going to fill that void. In the case of the US, the entity trying to fill that void is Islamism. Anything that, or anyone who, works to overthrow the Judeo-Christian heritage of the US is a friend of the Islamists. The saying that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” certainly applies here in the US, and the verbiage coming out of the Biden government makes it a “friend” of Hamas. How many times now, with hostage negotiations underway, has the Biden administration said or done something to totally undermine Israel? And Hamas simply walks away, effectively saying “why negotiate with Israel when the US is against them?” I won’t even mention the ongoing and untimely undermining actions of the UN, France, England, Canada, Australia etc. etc. ad nauseam. Islamism’s goal is to destroy Israel, the Jewish people, democracy and western civilization as we know it. There is a camel in the global tent and it is Islamism.
