A Genuine Hero

The current Jewish Community of Lithuania just reported that Lithuanian hero, Silvia Foti, was honored by the City of Beverly Hills. They state:

Silvia Foti Honored by City of Beverly Hills

2024-07-17

Beverly Hills, probably the highest concentration of wealth, success and power in the world, honored Lithuanian citizen Silvia Foti on Monday, July 15, 2024. The award was signed by all members of the city council.

In deciding to honor Foti the city council considered the following facts:

Silvia Foti holds dual citizenship in America and Lithuania. She has always remained loyal and patriotic to both countries. As a devout Catholic, she has stalwartly represented the finest ideals of honesty, integrity and compassion.

Silvia Foti is the granddaughter of the genocidal Lithuanian Holocaust perpetrator Jonas Noreika who is continuously and fraudulently honored by the Lithuanian government as a national hero of Lithuania and a rescuer of Jews.

Silvia Foti is an educator and has worked relentlessly, diligently and with thorough integrity to expose the Holocaust crimes committed by her own family. She has confronted the forces of Holocaust denial, revision and distortion by the Lithuanian government. She has incurred death threats, intimidation and suppression by those who have a vested interest in denial of the truth.

Sivia Foti has been honored by the US Congress, the US Senate and the California legislature for her campaign against misinformation, disinformation and Holocaust denial. She was a prior nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Silvia Foti has been featured in the New York Times, BBC, Chicago Tribune, Times of Israel, Jerusalem Post, Times of London and many more.

Silvia Foti has revealed the truth about the Lithuanian Holocaust in her book “The Nazi’s Granddaughter,” re-released as “Storm in the Land of Rain.” She has been featured in the documentaries “J’Accuse!” and “Baltic Truth.”

Chairman of Yad Vashem ambassador Dani Dayan delivered some of Silvia Foti’s findings in a speech he presented to the prime minister and parliament of Lithuania on September 21, 2023.

Silvia Foti is a leader in fighting against anti-Semitism, racism and all forms of bigotry. She is the ultimate example of integrity in the face of extreme adversity.

Contrary to those honoring Foti, Lithuania has a long history of honoring Holocaust perpetrators,  people who serve their national Holocaust denial, revision and distortion, people who willingly subvert truth for their own personal gain, and others. Unfortunately, honors for genuine Lithuanian heroes are forced to emanate from external sources, i.e. the City of Beverly Hills

Until Lithuania revokes national honors for perpetrators of genocide it cannot be considered an ethical and respected country. The first internal glimmer of hope has come from Egidijus Meilūnas, Vice Foreign Minister of Lithuania, who liked and therefore endorsed the foreign honors bestowed upon Silvia Foti. Clearly, the Lithuanian Government is aware of how they are perceived by the international community.

Hopefully Lithuania will come to the realization that citizens such as Foti are their genuine heroes, while simultaneously, recognizing that monsters such as Foti’s grandfather, are not.
