A Legacy and Legend of Deceit

The legacy media pundits and talking heads have provided a deluge of opinions about the causes of the atrocities Hamas unleashed upon Israel on that fateful day of Oct 7. Outrageously, the media disseminated a sizable number of so-called facts and opinions demonizing Israel by painting a grotesque picture of the war’s genesis on a palette of misleading narratives, purposeful anti-Israel propaganda, and outright lies.

Recently, Greta Thunberg and her mates sailing on the Madleen ship-of-fools, refused to view the gruesome videos of the atrocities Hamas terrorists recorded and proudly displayed for all the world to see. The crew of the Madleen’s refusal to view the pictorial facts is indicative of why so much of the public remains uninformed about the origins of the conflict between Arabs and Israelis. To educate those who are unaware of the series of events that led us to where we are today, I am sharing an email I received from a good friend of mine, Louis D’Angelo, which he wrote to “dispel the darkness” of unawareness.

“To those people that are blindly supporting or taking part in the demonstrations  at times violently, in support of the “Palestinian Cause” I say this to you.  I have a major problem with calling Arabs, any Arabs, “Palestinian,” and their made-up terrorist cause. Read on if you would like to know why I do.

What you say is true, that the Arab and Muslim world and their like-minded “Progressives” in the West, have fostered the displacement of Arabs from the geographic area, which from 1919 through 1948 was known as the Mandate of Palestine, which the League of Nations awarded to the arch-victor in WW1, Great Britain.

The Arabs living in the mandate were not known as “Palestinians;” they were known as Arabs. To the best of my knowledge there was never a “Palestinian people” per se. This did not come about until Egyptian dictator Gamal Abdul Nasser took another Egyptian and put him in charge of a Fedayeen organization funded and trained by the Egyptian military to conduct raids and terrorism in reborn Israel. That organization was the PLO, and its head was the Egyptian puppet, Yaser Arafat.

In 1967 when Egyptian and Syrian troops, armed and trained in the latest lethal Soviet weaponry threatened to annihilate Israel and its Jews, first by choking off Israel’s access to the Strait of Tiran, which was Israel’s only outlet to the Red Sea; it was a casus bello. In addition, to set up their staging area for the coming Arab attack on Israel and annihilation of the State and its Jewish population, Egypt ordered UN Peacekeepers withdrawn from the Sinai Peninsula and positioned 100,000 infantry, armor and artillery units into the vacated area,

With Israel’s unexpected and miraculous victory on three fronts in only six days the Arabs realized that they could not defeat Israel in open battle, so the PLO became, along with other jihadi organizations supported by Arab money, a terrorist organization operating with total impunity.

Although the myth of the “Palestinian People,” was born in 1964, it was the Arabs’ loss in the Six Day War that invigorated and elevated this myth to epic proportions. In this sense the Arabs won the propaganda war and created a world consciousness of a wronged “Palestinian People” cruelly and unjustifiably robbed of their “Palestinian Homeland” by the Zionists, as they referred to Israel and Jewish Israelis. The UN lauded and rewarded Arafat’s treachery, despite his blood-stained hands, by giving him a podium upon which to speak at the UN General Assembly in November 1974.

One of the stupidest things that Perez and Rabin did was to recognize the PLO as the representative of the “Palestinian People.” Consequently, Israel became complicit in the recognition of a distinct Arab people characterized as “Palestinian.” With the advent of the Oslo Accords in 1993 and 1999, with the USA as mediator, the Palestinian Authority was set up as Israel’s “peace” partner. I am going to stop with this as we know all too well that PLO terrorists spilled Jewish blood in Israel and elsewhere after their return from history’s dust bin in Tunis, to where they fled after the IDF threw them out of Lebanon and King Hussein booted them from Jordan.

So, pardon me when I say the so-called “Palestinian people” are not a people, they were never a country or even a division or subdivision of the Roman and Byzantines empires, nor succeeding Muslim Caliphates and Ottoman Turks that ruled this area for 2,000 years. Jordan ruled Judea and Samaria from 1948 to 1967 but never referred to this area by any other name than the West Bank (of the Jordan River) and recognized the Arab population within as fellow Arabs, not as Palestinians.

As a side note Newt Gingrich ran for president in 2012 in the Republican primaries. I do remember an interviewer of a major news outlet asked Gingrich how he would try to further the so-called Middle East Peace Process between the Israelis and Palestinian Arabs. Newt looked at the journalist and with a smile said, “There is no such thing as a” Palestinian people,” followed by his spelling out the reasons why.

This name is a made-up fiction that the world has stupidly bought into. Seems to me that Israel wins the battles, but the Arabs win the peace. Why? Because money buys influence. Money buys corrupt news coverage. Money buys corrupt politicians. Money buys academic chairs in major Western and American universities where academics sell their souls to unequivocally support the Arab narrative.  Money supports the agitators that mold and conform stupid idealistic students to take over and damage university property, march in the streets as hooligans, all the while destroying property, intimidating and harming innocent people in the streets.

The “Palestinian Intifada” has come to America, and in many cases local authorities have told the police to stand-down and not interfere. Why? I ask why? Why has the evil of anti-Semitism once again taken hold in Europe where the Nazis tortured and murdered six and a half million Jews only because they were Jews? Today, we are witnessing either apathy or encouragement of resurrected anti-Semitism.

The United States of America fought Nazi Germany, arming Britain, and the USSR in the fight to exterminate Nazi Germany and the evils of Nazism in all its forms only to see its greatest spawn of hatred openly promulgated today in America by those calling for the destruction of the Jews’ only sovereign state, Israel. They do this in the guise of supporting the “Palestinian cause” of freeing the land of the “Zionist occupation” of “Palestine.” These people have no idea of the true meaning what they are saying which is the eradication of the State of Israel and the extermination of almost nine million Jewish Israelis.

I bear no hate of the Arabs as a people. I admire the past contributions that the Arabs made to science, medicine, literature, and engineering in centuries past. I do see signs that many Arabs, including certain Arab leaders moving away from the automatic unbridled support of the self-styled Palestinian Arabs and their nihilistic cause of destruction. This changing leadership is aware of Israel’s outsized contributions in the fields of medicine, science, technology, the arts, literature, music and humanitarian aid to countries and places suffering from natural disasters. There is hope after all. There is discussion among Arab elites and rulers of expanding the Abrahamic Accords further to officially accept Israel as a nation among the nations.”

In the words of Theodore Herzl, “If you will it, it is no dream;” and for 2000 years the Jewish people have willed it, and yes, today it is not a dream, it is reality.
