A MEGA opportunity to explore a Jewish dream

Robert Kraft, owner of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots spoke at the Yeshiva University graduation last spring.  In his message to the students he said:

“If you want to be rich and you want to be happy with your portion, you have to get outside yourself and find the things that invest your life with meaning every day.  Where do you find that sense of connection?  To what teams will you give your blood, sweat and tears?  Because in so doing you give your own life meaning…So I leave you with these three questions:

1) What are your dreams?

2) What corner of the world will you make better?

3) What team will you join?”

Filling life with meaning is something which all human beings search for at some point in life.  Our generation has been blessed with an opportunity to “get outside ourselves” and fill every moment of life with meaning and richness, while feeling a sense of connection to a special team.

Moving to Israel is not easy.  There are often complications at every turn.  But, as someone who has made aliyah, I can say that this one decision has provided a daily answer to Mr. Kraft’s challenge.

And, as difficult as picking up from the comforts and the familiar environment and lifestyle of North America may be, the process of exploring Aliyah and seeing if it is the right choice for you has become a lot easier.  Nefesh B’Nefesh has arranged for “Aliyah fairs” in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Montreal.  These fairs, themed “Imagine Greater Possibilities,” provide a full-service Aliyah planning experience for prospective immigrants to Israel.  Attendees will be able to choose from over 50 sessions, workshops and one-on-one meetings with various Israeli organizations and Aliyah professionals, on topics ranging from home buying and education to professional licensing, health insurance and much more. In addition, eight Israeli municipalities will be represented at the fair to provide a snapshot of life across the country and help you choose a city which is the best fit for you.

Retirees can attend workshops on healthcare in Israel, smart finances, and building your community.  Young professionals will benefit from presentations about developing your career, social entrepreneurship, and building a strategic plan.  Workshop topics for families include planning, budgeting, and banking, benefits of Aliyah, and the Israeli job market.  And this year, as a response to a rising number of medical professionals interested in moving to Israel, representatives from seven hospitals and four healthcare providers will be coming to assist leading doctors to join their staff. Representatives of Israel’s Health Ministry will be on hand to offer on-the-spot licensing and professional consultations.  Participants can meet one-one one with accountants and financial planners, 58 vendors, and even get down to the most technical aspects of Aliyah like meeting with shipping companies.

Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Nefesh B’Nefesh explains: “We have continuously seen a rise in Aliyah interest from North America in recent years, so much so that we had to move the Mega Event to a college campus to accommodate and ensure every interested individual and family gets the attention and information they need. Now we have the ability to provide additional programming for children, significantly more sessions on Aliyah planning as well as an Israeli themed food market.”

This is your chance to answer Robert Kraft’s call by at the very least exploring the idea of living a 2,000-year-old Jewish dream of living in Israel, of filling your life with meaning every day, of feeling a sense of connection to a greater good, and giving your blood, sweat and tears to Team Israel.  This is the time go imagine greater possibilities for yourself and for your children and grandchildren.

The New York “Mega Event” takes place on February 26 at John Jay College in Manhattan.  You can get all the information you need about this fair by clicking HERE.

The fair in Montreal will take place on Tuesday February 28, in Toronto on Wednesday March 1, and in Los Angeles on Sunday March 5.  To learn more about all the fairs please click HERE.
