A Prayer for Protection in Times of War
As we face the potential of war and missile attacks, 5785 brings unprecedented challenges. Now, more than ever, we turn to God for protection, safety, and strength—not only to shield us from violence but to give us the courage to stand firm against those who wish to destroy us. We pray to be true soldiers, defending our land and people with faith and resilience, under God’s watchful protection.
Prayer for Protection, Strength, and Return to the Holy Land:
Master of the Universe, our Protector and Guardian, we stand before You with trembling hearts. In the coming year, 5785, shield us from the perils of war and destruction. May no missile, rocket, or weapon of violence strike our land or harm our children. Wrap Your holy wings around us, granting peace and safety for us and our children. Strengthen our hands to stand firm against those who seek to destroy us, and grant us the courage to be true soldiers in defending Your land. In Your mercy, gather those who live outside of Israel back to the Holy Land, so that we may all stand together in Your chosen land. Let this year be one of life and serenity, not fear and ruin. Amen.
This prayer can be inserted after U’Netaneh Tokef or during Shma Kolenu in the Amidah, asking for divine protection, strength, and the courage to defend our people and land with faith and resilience.
Let us unite as one, asking God for strength and protection, and may this year bring peace, safety, and the fulfillment of our prayers to return to our homeland and stand firm in the face of challenges.
