A small country with a lot of heart

We see a lot of bad press about Israel in the media these days.  It’s often depicted in very negative tones.  Sometimes, with all the trouble going on around, it’s easy to forget the true heart and nature of the country.

Israel is not perfect, and I doubt any Jew or Israeli, or anyone who even supports it, would say so.  However, despite all the problems and challenges it faces, it is a country that is exceedingly decent with decent people, who contribute much to the world.  It faces challenges no country on earth faces – and despite all of that, it has still kept its honour very much intact.

So, today, I decided to do something a little different, focussing instead on some of the beautiful things about Israel, instead of the negative aspects the media tends to focus on.

I have put together a short video using a famous Israeli folk song called Al Kol Eyle by Naomi Shemer.

It is a beautiful song that talks about the land, the bitter and the sweet, the pain and the joy – and the eternal hope, calling on God to look over all these things.
