A Special Land

The Torah reminds us of the special place that the Land of Israel is for the Jewish people. It is a beautiful land that provides all of our physical and spiritual needs.

It is a land where G-d, Himself, sees it as a place of His manifestation. It is the chosen land designated for His chosen people.

There is an inherent connection to the land, in the soul of each and every Jew. For some, this connection is hidden, while for others, the attachment is very deep and apparent.

We must not forget that G-d’s original purpose was that all of the Jewish people dwell in this chosen land. The special bond between Hashem and His people could only be felt in Eretz Yisrael.

We must also remember the numerous warnings in the Torah, that if we stray from the observance of the Mitzvot, we will be banished from the land, and scattered all over the world. This is the curse of the Exile, that we have endured for nearly two thousand years.

Through Hashem’s kindness, He decided that it was time for this Galut, exile, to end. He has gathered us from the four corners of the earth, to once again thrive in the land.

Eretz Yisrael, the Torah of Israel, and the people of Israel, were meant to bond as one. The appreciation and yearning to live in this land, will solidify this bond. Israel, the Torah and its people are all special. We must cherish all three.
