Abbas’ Delusions Focus in on Israel’s Own Lack of Vision
Abbas’ still increasing incitement and delusions – along with the escalating conduct and violence to its own from the Hamas ‘leadership’ – continues to make clear that Israel does not have a ‘partner’ for peace among any of the current Palestinian leadership. This reality makes it even more shameful and tragic that Netanyahu and his coalition remain so incredibly unstable, without a future vision to pursue or respond effectively to Abbas (or Hamas) who is, after all, nothing more than another oppressive regional Muslim dictator. A reality is that the PA/Abbas along with Hamas ‘leadership’ are the most serious and immediate threat to the Palestinian citizens of the West Bank and Gaza.
But between Netanyahu’s need to cover for his and his wife’s criminal corruption, for the constant intense in-fighting for day to day power among Likud’s ‘coalition,’ for those Israeli ultra-Orthodox sects now more serving the interests of Iran and Hamas who would do far better by Israel in immigrating to New York and Netanyahu’s Christian Zionists sponsors working to create the mythological conditions for the ‘Second Coming of Christ’ which – by the way – does not include Jewish survival, Israel’s government continues to share a symbiotic relationship with both the PA and Hamas leadership in protecting their ‘day jobs’ over their respective citizenry as all lead their own towards a shared self annihilation.
No…Israel has no coherent leadership partners in either Gaza or the West Bank and neither do the Palestinian citizens. At the same time, Palestinian citizens – a majority of whom would be good to live peacefully and securely…to see a socioeconomic future for themselves and their families…also do not currently have any kind of partner in Israel. And to those still seeking to ‘eliminate’ all of the Palestinian citizens from the occupied Territories, that this will not and cannot happen means we need an authentic, doable and mutually held solution or risk dying together.
With real vision; with the political courage and a focus on Israel’s future, Israel could ‘partner’ with and support the Palestinian citizens apart from their corrupt, ahistorical, deluded, death for photo ops leadership. That such a concept – paired with an authentic, strong and clear eyed vision for Israel’s future – also currently remains far out of reach for Netanyahu and his coalition continues the most immediate threat to Israel’s current security and future stability.
