Alert! Hamas and BDS

Finally supporters of Israel are realizing that BDS is much more than labeling and boycotting consumer products made by Israeli enterprises operating in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Golan.

One of the prongs of the fight-back has to be exposing how the BDS movement – sometimes unwittingly – aids and abets some of Israel’s most vicious enemies.

My guess is that not many Times of Israel faithfuls read articles from the Gatestone Institute. So I want to put out an alert about a must-read BDS and Hamas: The New Partnership by Khaled Abu Toameh. June 12, 2015.

Khaled Abu Toameh is a Jerusalem-based Israeli Arab Muslim journalist and documentary film maker who has been covering what is happening in the West Bank and Gaza for nearly three decades. He is one of the most cited journalists about these issues – and known for being a passionate seeker of truth regardless of possible costs for himself. He has recently been awarded the LA Press Club’s Daniel Pearl Award recognizing courage and integrity in journalism. He is clearly as much a fearless sage as our own Bassem Eid.

If you care about the conflict between Israel and the Arab world (not least the Palestinians),  you owe it to yourself to read at least one of Khaled Abu Toameh’s articles every week – and not just read about him through the lenses of TOI writers. Google him and you’ll find lots of different media who bring his articles.

About the Author
I am an American who has lived and worked in Denmark since 1978. On retiring from "gainful employment" in 2013 I noticed - really noticed - how much bashing Israel is getting from within and without, and found it not only grossly unfair but dangerous. Since then I have worked full time as a volunteer to try to open Danish minds and hearts, to stimulate curiosity about Israel to replace or prevent the development of indifference or actively negative feelings. Sometimes I write in English and use my ToI blog to share.
