This poem is dedicated to all of my amazing local rabbis and rebbetzins where I live in MA, as well as in New York and in Israel who are my teachers and friends and have helped me have a corrective and healing experience.

The title of this blog post was inspired by one of my rabbi’s shir’s yesterday about Pesach at one of the several shul’s I go to where I live in MA.

Todah!

I pray all of Hashem’s kids young and old will feel safe enough to come back to our communities so that they can feel the love, warmth, and care that is within our “Tents”; and learn all of the Torah’s wisdom and insights and Halakhah (A genre of Jewish Law and Legal writing) from our true Torah leaders and Scholars and Rabbi’s so that we all can have a life worth living!

I pray that (with Hashem’s help) that you will also feel bold enough to ask all of these questions!

Even if your were or are a “wicked “ and “rebellious” child of Hashem the way I was!

May it be Hashem’s will to heal all of his children from all Jewish sectors of our religion and faith, as well as all of his other children from all faiths and creeds!

May the Mighty Creator and true deliverer of the world release all of us from any “Mizraims” that stil may be keeping any one of us still in bodnage in any area of our lives that is preventing anyone of us from having a life worth living!

Amen!

This way our hearts and minds and bodies and souls will be open and healed so that we can learn to serve and love Hashem with Joy and !שִׂמְחָה

The Loner’s Café

We all sit one by one, and side by side in the Loner’s Cafe

We sit together and yet some of us are miles apart in our minds, hearts and bodies

The ambiance at the Loners Café is divine and casts an aura of light, love, and mystery throughout the walls of the restaurant.

The plates and silver on the table and the art on the walls make the guests at the Cafe feel the atmosphere is just right for that special meal.

The anticipation of the promise of an exciting night out on the Town at our favorite restaurant is what recruits many of us to come back night after night and day after day for that special feeling when we enter the doors to our home away from home.

Some of us at the Loners Café may even ponder on that special occasion, that maybe by some act of faith, that maybe tonight will be the night for some type of unexpected encounter with someone, who like us, is also looking for some type of companionship with a real spiritual and human connection.

(not just AI or social media)

And so, as the foods aroma fills the air with the delectable smells being prepared in the chef’s Kitchen.

The goals of the Chef’s and their team is to make each guest feel special and have a taste of heaven and delight if only for a moment after they place their order for their meal.

Each morsel of food is prepared in excellence and precision to make the Loners Café guest feel alive and to awaken all of their senses to remind them they are human and still part of the human race.

The sound of the chatter of the people in the main dining room sounds like a choir of soft and loud voices swaying back and forth to the syncopation of their emotions as they talk about their stories of make believe and fantasy.

The guests at the loner ‘café also exchange ideas and opinions about the latest narratives of the world and their own personal beliefs and values of how things should be at the café and in the world.

So, who are they the guests that come to the “The Loner’s Cafe” night after night and day after day?

They come from all walks of life to taste the “good life”

of food, service, and companionship

The Loner’s Cafe is a place to have a bite and hold on to some type of belonging.

Even if they are total strangers and not kindred.

A family of stranger’s night after night,

but to the customers it’s family

It might be dining at a dive, or a fancy restaurant

But the emotion is the same for the

“Loners family” away from home

The waiters, and the bus boys/girls and the maitre d

have all become kinship to us

A dream of fellowship, and “make believe”

create an illusion of peaceful surroundings and unity.

The Loner’s Café is the place to be to fill ourselves with good cheer and glee

and delicious food if only for one night or moment away from our real lives.

So, night after night and day after day we continue to come to the place where it makes our hearts feel like home.

Sad, but true the lights have to dim

The dividends of the day have to be collected and accounted for

And the Café of Loner’s “family” will continue their travel side by side and

One by one

Only back to their own place of leisure

To reside alone.

However, having gone to the Loners Café and being among other guests at the Loners Café somehow the thought of coming home alone does not feel as bad or sad to the guests as it did before they went to the Loners Café of life.

And by the grace of going to the Loners Café with its mystic and mysterious ambiance its actuality makes a tiny impression on their hearts and minds which makes the guest feel a little bit lighter and a little more hopeful and a little bit more optimistic about themselves and their lives.

They might even start to ponder that even if they are all alone, and really feel alone, that just maybe they are not alone and our one of many.

And like the many guests at the restaurant that they met and spoke to at the café, that they shared a meal and conversation with at the Loners Café ,they even might start to believe that their lives do have purpose and value and that they of are a part of a much larger family waiting to connect and unit in brother and sisterhood and make up for all of the sadness and loneliness.
