Amnesty International’s dishonesty

As predictable as Pavlov’s dog, no surprise that the BDS coalition joins the bandwagon of the recent Amnesty International (AI) “report” targeting the only country and people in their crosshairs for opprobrium and capitalizing on emotive language designed to mobilize people to hate.

When analysing both AI and BDS statements over many years, it seems that they not only echo each-others disdain of the Jewish people through attacking Israel, but clearly have an agenda of dismantling and destroying that country, meaning eradicating the Jewish people from the face of the earth. Nothing new and far greater powers have tried and failed.

In an interview with a leading Israeli newspaper, AI trying as hard as they could, striving to justify the double standards employed during this fallacious report, were floundering for logical answers and cogent reasons, laying their dishonesty bare. There is no shortage of countries whose apartheid practices make the old South African model fade in insignificance, let alone what Israel is accused of. Many of these border on failed and rogue states where genocide is the order of the day, gross human rights abuse abounds in the name of ‘law’ and terrorising of their populations continue unabated. But this report as illogical as it is will do what it is intended, to create more hatred.

If one digs a little deeper into some of the interactions that AI has engaged with the likes of the Taliban, and ISIS and referred to “Jihad John” as a gentle soul, does one need any further proof that AI has a specific agenda against one people but supports, yes supports regimes with blood dripping off their hands.

One of the mission statements of Freedom House (FH), an NGO that amongst other things promotes and strengthens democracy,  “Freedom House is founded on the core conviction that freedom flourishes in democratic nations where governments are accountable to their people.

According to FH, Israel stands with a very high score and status amongst the FREE democracies around the world yet AI sees differently. Given the history of AI’s continuous bias – who is to be believed?

While AI has maliciously labelled Israel and apartheid state, one needs to consider the following g report by the U.N. on just one aspect of the ANC’s current “apartheid” policy:
“The South African government has legislated for equal education throughout the country. Nevertheless, there have been “issues” in the implementation of these laws, and according to a 2020 report by Amnesty International, South Africa has one of the most unequal educational systems in the world. Additionally, there is not much racial integration in state schools. Though laws allow for integration, many schools remain predominantly one race.
Rural schools:

Approximately 79% of Black South Africans live in rural communities. However, the government has neglected the quality of education in these rural areas. Issues with rural schooling include: poor facilities, lack of clean water, lack of resources, and unmotivated teachers. Some schools are not structurally stable and are at risk of collapse, with some schools even lacking electricity. Most schools with more than 500 children lack proper sanitation for toilets while some schools don’t have toilets at all. Furthermore, many rural schools are in remote areas without direct access to clean water.

The remoteness of these rural schools is also a particular problem because they are quite distant from pupils’ homes.

And, many schools do not remedy this issue with transport. Additionally, many schools lack the needed books and supplies for learning.  Some students do not have enough food to eat and are hungry during school. This hunger causes a lack of concentration and makes learning environments less favourable.”

Given this report, clearly unequal and discriminatory practices abound in the country where apartheid was founded and identified, and held as a model for the definition and meaning of the word. Interesting to note that the Durban Conference on Racism in 2001, in reality, recognized as a hate-fest of unapparelled proportion , was used in defining that emotive language. It’s indeed blatantly clear that AI purporting to be the human rights defender of the modern world fails dismally in its calling. This is but one glaring example to how this organization discredits itself by ignoring the real inequitable practices of so many countries around the world but chooses to attack a country where such prejudices are hardly present.

Anti-Semitism, a pandemic that has been around as long as recorded history itself, takes pride of place in organizations such as AI. While never admitting to such, a quick study of how this body has over many years morphed into the mouthpiece of Jew hatred that lends respectability by attacking the nation state of the Jewish people. It’s AI fanning the flames of abhorrence of one people and mobilises people to hate. In dangerous times people want to believe – or blame?
