An Open Letter to the President of Vassar College

Dear President Bradley,

I write these words as a liberal Israeli, who prays for the day when there will be a resolution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. I do so as the father of a 19-year old son, Jonathan, who was killed by Hezbollah terrorists aided and abetted by the ayatollahs of Iran.

A friend has shared with me the message you released following the Hamas Massacre in Israel.

You should be ashamed of yourself for not finding a single word of condemnation by naming those Hamas barbarians, who mercilessly slaughtered a thousand men, women and children, injured thousands more, and dragged hostages away with them to Gaza. Simply referring to what took place as “appalling violence and loss of life” and “heartbreaking and horrifying” is really not good enough. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Among the dead are some 40 babies, some of whom had been decapitated by those Hamas thugs. They even murdered a grandmother and then put a picture of her dead body on her Facebook page.

Your college website includes the statement that “The Vassar curriculum has always been characterized by boldness”. Clearly that boldness does not extend to your naming the perpetrators of this atrocity. It is like referring to the 6,000,000 Jews and millions of others, who were mercilessly and systematically murdered in the Holocaust, without even mentioning the Nazis who were responsible for its execution.

It is so sad and indeed disturbing that a woman of your education and stature, who heads a respected academic institution, should have no moral compass.

Yours sincerely,

Rabbi Michael Boyden
