An Orthodox LGBTQ club?

By all methods of translation, an Orthodox LGBTQ club is an oxymoron par excellence. Yeshiva University in New York was apparently forced to allow such a club as part of its institution by court order. Although YU fought valiantly for a long time not to create such a group it apparently caved to the order.

Now that that is a fact, disguised as it may be, one would hope that at least the rabbinical school will not give smicha (rabbinical ordination) to any member of that “sect.” Doing so would completely negate the standards set out by the Torah that YU supposedly espouses as a religious institution. That means that a rabbi ordained by YU who is a member or believer in LGBTQ cannot convince his congregants to observe the Tora laws when he himself violates them.

Hopefully, some kind of accommodation will be made that negates the faulty decision.
