And Dinah, the daughter of Leah, went out…
“Dinah, the daughter of Leah”
and where was Jacob?
“whom she bore to Jacob”,
and why is Jacob described in this way?
went out to see the daughters of the land.
And Jacob was silent.
Shechem,
Did Jacob notice that she had gone out?
the son of Hamor the Hivite,
What is Jacob thinking, planning?
prince of the land,
What is Jacob doing?
saw her;
Didn’t Jacob realize?
and he abducted her
Where was Jacob? Your daughter needs you.
lay with her
Dinah is lying there, crying out for you.
and afflicted her.
Dinah was never the same again. Her body and soul were afflicted.
Jacob did not cry out, to come to save her.
Jacob was silent.
(Genesis 34:1–2)
Perhaps, it is time for our fathers, who call themselves, “parents”, of our daughters who have become afflicted, to rise up to protest their unjust abductions and afflictions; of body and soul.
It is time to lend an ear and a hand…
For all people who have been unjustly taken and used for temporary bodily pleasure and release.
We can speak out at this continuing injustice.
Thankfully, another sex ring was busted here in the New York, New Jersey areas.
Let us pray for the restoration of peace and balance in our world.
