André Lajst Honors Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, Strengthening Israel Ties
This week, the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein received a special tribute that symbolizes not only recognition but also the historical and cultural connection with the State of Israel. The presentation was made by André Lajst, Executive President of StandWithUs Brasil, to the hospital’s president, Dr. Sidney Klajner, and the Manager of Institutional Relations and Philanthropy, Iris Fridman.
The tribute consists of a plaque containing an Israeli banknote of 5 lirot, dated 1968, featuring the portrait of physicist Albert Einstein. The banknote was created in Israel as a way to honor Einstein’s genius and his connection with the country. The plaque bears the inscription: “Tribute from StandWithUs Brasil to the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, for its generosity toward the Jewish community and the State of Israel.”
The gift will be permanently displayed in the hospital’s presidential hall, alongside other distinctions received over the years, reinforcing the institution’s role as a reference in healthcare and as a symbol of solidarity and support for the Jewish community.
This initiative highlights the importance of historical memory and the recognition of figures who shaped science and global culture, while also celebrating the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein’s commitment to values of generosity and international cooperation.
