As the Sirens of Democracy Wail

As the sirens of democracy wail

And the shield of brotherhood deflects

The knifing of a rocket

Blazed by a culture

Built on violence and death

To the tune of the bomber they play

Leading the children astray

Down the path of hate to lay

To the tune of the bomber they play

When they should have been learning a map of the world today.

As the sirens of democracy wail

And the walls of David resound

Lies and denial of the holy text rebound

In a region where religion reigns

Or refrains.

Surrounding the city of David in false claims

But pieces carved are stuck in the middle

And they forgot to look east for a little

Forgetting the chapters of Moses land

The chapters of which he preached

About a land they’d rather see deceased

But they forgot those chapters

And continue to play

To the tune of the bomber of which they sadly lay

As the sirens of democracy wail

And the shield of brotherhood deflects

The words for peace do not connect.
