Australia and the Gaza ‘Genocide’ Blood Libel
Australia, its government and media, more than any in other country should have known better. Innocent blood is on their hands.
That Israel has committed ‘genocide’ in Gaza is a modern-day blood libel, deliberately perpetuated by those who know it to be false, driven by a totally unhinged kind of activism that has infected the newsrooms of legacy media, human rights NGOs, university campuses and cultural ‘elites’, among many others.
That the tragic Hanukkah Bondi Beach mass murder today of — at time of writing — over a dozen Jewish people, may their memory be a blessing, happened in Australia of all places should be a wake up call to those who have sleepwalked into the foulest kind of antisemitism through misguided belief in this 21st century blood libel.
You see, Australia is the one country that has firm evidence — independently and objectively determined — that there has been no blood libel, that Israel has been conducting a war in Gaza in pretty much the same way any Western country would have conducted the war.
Take your mind back to early April 2024 and the killing in Gaza of World Central Kitchen aid workers in a tragic incident.
One of those aid workers was Zomi Frankcom, a 43-year old Australian. Australia was outraged, convulsed in a wave of anti-Israel hatred as allegations were flung around that the aid workers were deliberately targeted by ‘genocidal’ Israel who did not want aid reaching Gaza.
The Government of Australia commissioned the former chief of the Australian Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin as a Special Advisor to carry out an independent investigation into the incident.
He was under huge pressure to come up with the “right verdict” so Australians could fully vent their growing self-righteous indignation by taking further action against the Jewish state.
However, unlike the activists who have now replaced journalists, human rights lawyers, civil servants and many others in roles formerly reserved for objective, neutral experts, thank G-d, Binskin acted with integrity and diligence.
To summarise just a few of the Binskin Report conclusions, which is an essential read for anyone who still believes in this wretched blood libel, as well as those that campaign against it:
“…the IDF’s view of the material issues in respect of targeting law relevant to this incident – particularly precautions in attack, including identification criteria and classification of people in terms of liability to lethal targeting – are the same as the Australian Defence Force (ADF) would likewise be concerned with in such a situation.
“Similarly, the IDF’s view of the role of Rules of Engagement and Standard Operating Procedures in respect of where delegations to engage are held, also appears similar to that of the ADF.
“The IDF’s view on which targeting rules and control mechanisms are relevant and applicable to this incident is similar to what Australia’s would be in a like situation.
In respect of post-incident investigation, the IDF system is similar to the Australian system…
With regard to timeliness, the (IDF) investigation took less than 72 hours. It would be difficult for Western militaries, including the Australian Defence Force to be any quicker.. (and) the ADF could not have imposed equivalent reprimands as quickly as the IDF was able to do”
The Binskin Report is the only independent report there is on how Israel has conducted the war in Gaza. It was carried out by someone who had every incentive to conclude negatively about Israel’s conduct, such were the expectations.
And yet despite this, the Australian Government and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), among many others, have, it seems, continued vilifying Israel, rewarding terrorism, backing away from taking the necessary measures to protect the Jewish community, and giving further rise to the grotesque libel of ‘Gaza genocide’.
Of any country, Australia should have known better. The government should have known better. The media should have known better. The truth was in their hands. And yet they chose to ignore it. The blood of innocents is on their hands.
