Abdikarim Ali Mohamed is a Senior Government Communications Strategist who currently leads Somaliland’s National Communication & Media Coordination Taskforce, the sole official entry point for international media following Somaliland’s recognition. Holding an MA in Public Relations & Media from the University of Leicester and a BA in Sociology & Social Anthropology, he is passionate about government strategic communications, critical geopolitics (how states construct geopolitical narratives) and public diplomacy. His work highlights on how state actors utilize strategic communication as a tool of statecraft including diplomatic engagement, drawing on years of experience with international organizations and government development projects in the Horn of Africa, particularly Somalia and Somaliland.
