Four Go To Norfolk. (Two Teenagers One Bathroom On Location)

I promised to keep it short and sweet. A two night break in Norfolk - the four of us. They were uncharacteristically amenable, positive even. There was nothing else on the holiday horizon for them. Ilana (18) was childminding,...

Ilana’s Gap Year and Her Mum Sheds a Tear.

Ma’oz tzur yeshuati, the cat’s in the cupboard and you can’t catch me

It was one of those “What?? Already??” moments. Yet the signs had been there… the Christmas lights, the £5 boxes of Quality Street chocolates in the supermarket, but the penny had not dropped. Even the constant hints from my...

My year in Israel with FZY 1984-1985. Part Three – Kibbutz Ketura and Moshav Nir Yafe.

Our five months on the Machon came to an end and us six FZYniks had to bid farewell to all our lovely friends. The English folk were bound to turn up again* in our lives but the likes of...
