Carmit Palty Katzir is a clinical social worker and a leading voice in the struggle to release the hostages taken on October 7, 2023. Her father, Rami Katzir, was murdered on Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7. Her mother Hana and her brother Elad were taken captive. Hana was released in the first ceasefire deal but later died as a result of her time in captivity. Elad was murdered in captivity.
