Gina Waldman is a human rights advocate. She is the recipient of many awards including the Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award. She has worked relentlessly to free prominent prisoners of conscience in the former Soviet Union. She worked with prominent Nobel Prize recipient Andrei Sakharov and prominent activist Anatoly Scharansky.
She escaped from a terror attack in her native Libya where locals tried to burn the bus taking her and her family to the Tripoli airport. She cofounded an organization to educate people about the plight of nearly one million Jews from the Middle Eastern who were expelled from the Middle East and North Africa, JIMENA (Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa). She resides in California.
