Ilene Munetz-Pachman is a lifetime Hadassah member, a member of Hadassah Educators Council and of the Hadassah Writers’ Circle. For Yom HaShoah, 2025, Ilene was a National Hadassah webinar speaker on the subject of the life and work of Raoul Wallenberg, the quintessential Christian Holocaust rescuer. As a widely published freelance writer, Ilene was the “Motherhood” columnist for Philadelphia’s former Jewish Times. Because of her successful advocacy for the Raoul Wallenberg U.S. commemorative stamp, Ilene was an honoree at U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s ceremony marking the first day of the stamp’s issuance. Having taught children with special needs, Ilene has written articles about the urgency to eradicate the hurtful use of the “R” word -- a label which robs cognitively slower human beings of their deserved respect/dignity. Ilene has been published in: Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Jewish Exponent, Baltimore Jewish Times, Cleveland Jewish News, Washington Jewish Week etc. Her children’s books include Like a Knot in My Shoelace, A Yahrzeit Remembrance.
