Mary Kluk was born in Durban. She attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she earned a BA in Jewish Studies/Sociology/Economic History. She worked at Quest Personnel as the marketing services manager and at Gallant Clothing as a textile buyer. Mary is the director and founder of the Durban Holocaust Centre. She was the chairman of KZN Branch of SAJBD, and then the national chairman of SAJBD. Currently, she heads up the Jewish community as president of the SAJBD. She is also a trustee of SAHG Foundation and Beare Foundation among other trusts, and member of the executive committee of the World Jewish Congress. Mary is married to Graham, and they have three children and two grandchildren.
