Born in Tel Aviv and raised in South Africa, Tal attended a Jewish day school in Johannesburg before returning to Israel for close to two years after completing school. He later studied Law in Johannesburg, but his interest in Hebrew led him to pursue Hebrew Literature for personal enrichment. This opened the door to Hebrew teaching, and what began as an academic interest grew into a deep commitment to Hebrew education. Tal currently serves as Deputy Principal and Head of Hebrew at a Jewish day school in Johannesburg and is pursuing an MA in Jewish Education, specialising in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language. Married for almost five years, he remains deeply passionate about Jewish education and believes that Hebrew is far more than a language: it is a living link between generations, Jewish identity and Israel.
