Better a fifth election than to sit in a government dependent on enemies!

Today the Jewish People stands on the brink of a national disaster, G-d Forbid!
Both the Right and the Left, along with the Religious parties, to our utter consternation, stand ready to accept outside support for a coalition government from Ra’am, the Israeli Arab political party, in order to avoid going to a fifth election.  Doing so hands Ra’am veto power to bring down the government anytime they disagree with what it is doing.  The only one standing firmly opposed, whose leaders correctly see the bigger picture, is the Religious Zionist party led by Betzalel Smotrich.
“Someone wrote to me that there is a new phrase in Eretz Yisroel – be killed and don’t let go.”
“There is a Halacha:  allow yourself to be killed and don’t transgress, thus I asked, what is the meaning of this?”
“Why don’t you understand, he replied, let them be killed and don’t let go.  They are prepared to do anything and everything, even to permit Jews to be killed.  The main point (for them) is don’t let go of their Knesset seats.”
“In order to hold on to their Knesset seats, they are prepared to endanger millions of Jewish lives.  G-d save us!  May it never happen!” – the Lubavitcher Rebbe in a farbrengen Shabbos Parshas Beha’alosecha 1970
It was bad enough last year when Israel’s government appointed the Joint Arab List (supporters of the PLO, Hamas, and Hezbollah) to head the Knesset Welfare Committee that oversees and distributes benefits to disabled IDF and terror victims.
And, it’s even worse that Jewish children sleep fitfully at night in Southern Israel worrying when Hamas will fire the next rocket – while in Judea and Samaria the Palestinian Authority has free rein to orchestrate daily terror attacks – only because Israel’s government is unwilling to implement the common-sense counsel the Rebbe advised long ago to combat terrorism.  See:  The Lubavitcher Rebbe on the Way to Combat Terrorism (from the year 1969) – Jewish News and Israel news – Breaking News
But this latest mistake would usher in the duplicitous Islamist Ra’am party, whose charter calls for canceling Israel’s Nation State Basic Law – which affirms that Israel is the national home of the Jewish people.  Ra’am advocates a Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital, and is closely affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood! This is the nightmare of what can happen when politicians will do anything to hold on to their Knesset seats!
Better to go to a fifth election
than to sit in a government dependent on enemies!
Crown Heights Women for the Safety and Integrity of Israel calls on Israeli voters and the Jewish community abroad to contact Israel’s political leaders and insist they reject any coalition that would be reliant upon the support of Ra’am.  See attached contact list.

About the Author
I am originally from Buffalo, NY and although I did not have a religious upbringing I always felt a strong connection with Yiddishkeit and Eretz Yisroel. I still get chills recalling the moment the Rabbi announced that Israel had been attacked on Yom Kippur. In the weeks that followed, even though I really didn't understand all the details, I was the one student in my 10th grade Social Studies class who challenged our German-American teacher when he said Israel would be wiped out. Interestingly, the rest of Jewish kids in the class who came from much more Jewishly -oriented homes than I were silent. Years later I met one of them and was astounded to find out how they were all silently cheering me on. On the day the Jews were "disengaged" from Gush Katif, I was stopped in the grocery store (in Buffalo) by a little Jewish lady who whispered to me that she didn't think it was right what Israel was doing. Which just goes to show that there is a vast silent majority of Jews who agree with the Rebbe's approach to peace.
