Bibi … (thoughts before the last days of Passover)
Say what you like, but it seems clear that here is a man who is fighting opponents who want to bring him down, while working hard to protect Israel from vicious enemies. And, with the Almighty’s help, he and Israel’s army have already succeeded in defeating Hezbollah (which led to the fall of the Syrian regime), are in the midst of eradicating Hamas, and are on the verge of finishing the job against Iran. And all this while fighting pressure from all sides to topple him.
Say what you want, but Bibi is a fighter who doesn’t relent.
He doesn’t stop.
It’s a crazy world.
He needs to negotiate with a court (that many say is motivated and propelled by an opposition that wants to topple him), in order to get a few days off, so that he can meet with world leaders. He needs to frequently convince the judges, that he needs to take a break for ten minutes, so that he can deal with an urgent security crisis. He needs to deal with protestors, some who are overcome with despair for their loved ones held hostage, and some who are manipulating the hostage’s relatives, because they are trying to overthrow the government so that they, the opposition, can be elected. Bibi needs to overcome pressure from highly emotional people (and in the case of the opposition, highly biased, power-hungry political figures) in order to try his best to protect the country, while possibly extricating the captives.
It’s mind boggling. How much can a person take? And he just underwent surgery.
His opponents claim, that he is just doing what he is doing, because he wants to stay in power. But if he needs to stay in power in order to keep a right-wing coalition that is strongly motivated to powerfully defend Israel (by destroying ruthless enemies, and by adamantly refusing to give away any land — as Israel did with Gaza, which enabled October 7 to happen), then what’s wrong with that?
And if you argue, that Bibi is only in it for himself, I’ll say three things. First, we need to give people the benefit of the doubt. Second, even if he is trying to hold on to power for power’s sake, but if at the same time, he and his coalition are what Israel needs now to strongly defend the country, then that should be the overriding factor. And third, you the political opposition, aren’t you yourselves doing what you are doing in order to gain power? Aren’t you manipulating judges and police and intelligence services and protests and whoever else you can influence, in order to try to gain power?
I want to say: Here Bibi, take a seat, relax. Don’t worry. You are a hero. You will prevail. And your opponents from within Israel, will come begging for forgiveness. And your enemies, hostile elements surrounding Israel, will dissipate.
I want to tell him: Don’t worry. Keep up your dynamism. Your great sense of humour. Your optimism. Your fight to defend your people.
I want to tell him: Don’t worry. It will be good.
And I want to tell his opposers: Relax. Don’t fret. Don’t get your hopes up. You won’t succeed. Because G-d Almighty is protecting Israel.
I want to tell everyone: Redemption with Moshiach is very close.
And I want to tell everyone, all fellow Jews, that the day is quickly coming, when, as the prophets foretold, we will again be one people, united with G-d and with each other.
And the third and eternal Temple will be built on the holy mountain, in the geographical portion of Benjamin (which means ‘the son of my right side’ — the right side traditionally denotes kindness).
And all will acknowledge, that Benjamin Netanyahu dealt kindly with his people. And the Almighty is on this side.
