Broiled Kosher Fish Fillets with a Buttery Lemon Ginger Sauce
This is really delicious. Give this a try.
Ingredients
1 lb. Kosher Fish Fillets, (Any Kosher fish fillet works with this.)
2 tbs. Sesame Oil
A dash of Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Salt and fresh Cracked Black Pepper to taste
Butter Lemon Ginger Sauce
2 tbs. Soy Sauce
1 tbs. Sugar (If you have a problem with sugar, simply delete this or substitute a non-sugar sweetener.)
2 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced
1 inch fresh Ginger, minced
2 tbs. fresh Cilantro, minced
2 Shallots, thinly sliced
2 Scallions, thinly sliced
Juice of 2 Lemons
Zest of one Lemon
Salt and fresh Cracked Black Pepper to taste
4 tbs. Butter
A little Cornstarch and water as a thickener
1 Lemon sliced as a garnish
Directions
Sauce
In a sauce pan whisk together all the first eleven Sauce Ingredients over a low heat. Add the butter next to last. And continue to whisk. Allow the sauce to naturally thicken. You may need to add a little cornstarch and water to help this thickening. Do not thicken too much. This will continue to thicken when you serve the fish and sauce.
Fish
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
In a large bowl whisk together the oil, salt and cracked pepper. Add the fish fillets and coat both sides of each fillet. Place the fish fillets on a baking pan that has been covered with aluminum foil.
Broil the fish until it begins to caramelize and flakes. Place on a serving platter and drizzle some of the sauce over the fish. Serve the remaining sauce as a separate condiment. Serve with a fresh salad, rice, a green vegetable and some fresh bread for a complete meal.
A special note. Whenever possible please purchase Kosher items that come from Israel especially those products that originate in Judea and the Shomron.
