With Chodesh Irgun upon us, it seems that my whole life is focused on “Chodesh Irgun” Iran can attack the world, Someplace in the world, there will be a killer whale that is more than 3000 years old, science can make medical breakthroughs, and a person in the universe will have made contact with someone from another galaxy. None of this will have any effect on my children. I might say, “wow!!.a 3000-year-old whale just came up to shore.” and my children will say…”Ima can I make popcorn for my chanichicm/chanichot?” life outside of the “Snniff” does not exist. I cease to exist except as a provider for all of their needs and for the needs of all of Bene Akiva. “Ima please fill out this form.” “Ima I need 150 shekels.” “Ima can we make dinner for all of my shevet?” “Ima, I invited my shevet for Shabbat.” “Ima can you please drive me and my friend to pick up the t-shirts?”

Don’t get me wrong I think Bene Akiva is great. I think that all this energy is very positive. but I would like it to work both ways. “Can you please take out the garbage?” “Can you please pretend to listen to about that the 3000-year-old killer whale?” instead, all I hear is. “Ima can I take the electric burners, 2 pots, some garbage bags and can I borrow the markers?”

Ima needs a nap. and massage.

And perhaps some vodka.

So without further ado. I introduce to you the Shonos. a regular family who are dealing with regular things. At this moment they are totally and completely focused on “Chodesh Irgun”
