Choose to be a Jewish ally

There is so much in my brain, and as I ponder what to express on this page, I noticed something in my previous posts. Some of them had hashtags that would draw readers that were looking for a specific topic. I recently wrote about my My first Shavuot in Israel and my first all night learning. So I went to the Times of Israel website, typed in “blogs Shavuot,” and my article was the third one down!

The first article caught my eye, https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/shavuot-the-festival-of-jews-by-choice-a-salute/, it was about honoring and thanking people that chose to be Jewish. Because it relates to the story of Ruth that we read on Shavuot, and she was a convert and merited to be the great grandmother of King David. I personally have many friends that converted, and they come from all walks of life. There is a special light emanating from their soul. When we choose something, it is from our core, we discovered that it is a new way of moving through the world and it empowers us. My favorite Parsha in the Torah is Yitro, because he knew and experienced everything else in the world, and without a doubt realized that there is only one God.

Freedom of choice is given to every human being. At every moment we can choose which direction we go. The good news is, we can always make another choice, we are never stuck. This is something that I never doubt, I know one hundred percent with every ounce of my soul and it helps me stay fully present even when life gets hard.

One of the best parts of being born Jewish, is the clarity that we are surrounded by all kinds of people that have different paths, and as long as there is mutual respect, you do you and I will be me. If Judaism calls you forth, I find it so beautiful that you understand the essence and connection. What I am asking from the rest of the world is to please choose to be a Jewish Ally. Listen to and meet with Jews, we are actually all over the world. I am fascinated by life journeys, and relationships and communities is the only way forward. Especially with social media being used to connect and spread light. I am so happy to write and make videos expressing my reality, and the reality in Israel for the whole world to see.

Dialogue is the key. I am grateful for all of the sharing of information, and passing it on. Especially people that are writing facts from the ground. I am asking you to pause from the information overload, introspect and choose to connect.
