Climate Change Is Done Deal – Climate Pain Coming
California instituting water rationing today underlines the seriousness of climate pain. If CA is rationing at the beginning of Spring – how bad will the water shortage be in the middle of the Summer!?
Oh Oh!
My reading of the science is that climate change is a done deal. We appear stuck with the consequences. The political and business opposition appears trivial. Hyper-population growth seems the cause and there is simply no way to stop that or remediate the consequences. Even if global human consumption behavior could be changed, there is no way to know what to do! The unintended consequences of any efforts are unknowable.
Global warming and bad effects are likely to hit the Middle East and Northern Africa the worst. We are likely seeing the drought effects on breakdowns in societies and more warfare.
The current editorial of the Editor in Chief of Science certainly ruined my morning coffee, in the rainy Midwest of America and made my stomach a bit queasy:
“Suppose future governments of the world discover that a single nation is taking the unprecedented action of spraying sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere to cool Earth’s surface temperature by a few degrees celsius? The move is intended to increase the fraction of solar energy that is reflected from Earth back into space…. The nation was prompted by a failed harvest the previous year, the result of greenhouse gas buildup in the atmosphere that boosted average summer temperatures above 32°C.
For the moment, this scenario remains hypothetical. However, the impacts of climate change are indeed real. Before long, they may well provoke citizens to demand that their leaders take more drastic actions for the sake of the economy and public health, and to avoid civil unrest and international conflict. *“
As the effects of global warming accumulate, it is plausible to expect more extreme political behaviors in the areas effected, including the Middle East. The prospect of an extremeist political group going off half-cocked, scientifically, to effect the climate is scary!……Of course, this is fear-triggering communications as well!….lol

Here is the abstract from the article.
“Suppose future governments of the world discover that a single nation is taking the unprecedented action of spraying sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere to cool Earth’s surface temperature by a few degrees celsius? The nation was prompted by a failed harvest the previous year, the result of greenhouse gas buildup in the atmosphere that boosted average summer temperatures above 32°C. National leaders turn to the science community for answers: What does this action mean for any individual country? Will it make the drought in Saõ Paolo better or worse? If the wheat yield falls in northern Russia, could it be due to the..modification? Can science apportion damage caused by such an intervention? Should the United Nations block such action?”
