Coachella, Silence Is Complicity

To the Team at Coachella & Goldenvoice,

Imagine armed terrorists storming into Coachella—massacring, raping, and torturing innocent people mid-celebration. That unthinkable horror is exactly what happened at the Nova Music Festival in Israel on October 7th, when Hamas terrorists carried out one of the most brutal attacks on civilians in recent memory. Over 360 young people were murdered. Hundreds more were injured, kidnapped, or violated—just for attending a music festival.

And now, on your stages, individuals are glorifying that very violence.

When performers or attendees use your platform to post messages like “F*** Israel” and “Free Palestine”—while ignoring or even justifying the atrocities committed by Hamas—they’re not expressing political views. They’re glorifying terrorism. They’re celebrating the suffering of innocent people, including the very type of music lovers that Coachella was built to bring together.

Goldenvoice and Coachella have always stood as symbols of unity, artistry, and freedom of expression. But freedom of expression must not become a shield for hate or incitement.

This moment demands clarity and courage. We urge you to take a stand—condemn hate speech, denounce the celebration of terrorism, and ensure that Coachella remains a space where peace, inclusion, and humanity are not just buzzwords, but true values.

Sincerely,

Shervin Natan
