Comparing Trump to Hitler Is ‘Cheapening’ the Holocaust
In the run up America’s 2024 election, in less than 2 weeks, the Democrat’s candidate Kamala Harris has foolishly been comparing former President Trump, the Republican’s candidate, to Hitler.
Adolf Hitler orchestrated World War II, the deadliest military conflict in history, which resulted in an estimated 70 to 85 million people killed, including 6 million Jews.
It’s impossible to understand the scale of death and destruction he caused. Anne Frank, a young teenage Jewish girl, was in hiding in Germany during the Holocaust. She described what was happening in her diary:
“Night after night, green and grey military vehicles cruise the streets. They knock on every door, asking whether any Jews live there. If so, the whole family is immediately taken away… I get frightened myself when I think of close friends who are now at the mercy of the cruellest monsters ever to stalk the earth. And all because they’re Jews.”
She wrote, “I’ve reached the point where I hardly care whether I live or die… I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too, I feel the suffering of millions.” She was murdered several months after writing this and her body was thrown into a mass grave.
Words cannot describe the soul-crushing harrowing atrocity that this one man caused. After leading the Nazi party into governance, he committed a genocide against the Jewish people, killing every Jewish person he could find.
Once a year, there is International Holocaust Remembrance Day to remember what happened and the victims who were mass-murdered. Today, many countries around the world have the denial of Nazi crimes or portraying Nazis as heroes a criminal offence.
The world tries to remember, to educate and to honour the memory of the millions killed. But then comes along Kamala Harris and desecrates on the victims of the Holocaust by comparing her opponent to Hitler, just to score political points.
Jerry Wartski, a 94 year-old Holocaust survivor said, “’Adolf Hitler invaded Poland when I was 9 years old. He murdered my parents and most of our family… For her (Kamala Harris) to accuse President Trump of being like Hitler is the worst thing I ever heard in my 75 years living in the United States.”
Kamala is ‘cheapening’ the most destructive genocide in modern history for political gain. It is wrong, and must be condemned.
