Darkness and Light

There is an expression: Added light comes from the darkness.

When we go to sleep at night, we are motionless, and it’s dark. But the absence of light and the stillness allow us to recharge.

When Israelis argue about what it means to be a Jew, it seems dark. But they are awake to their Jewish identity.

When the Jewish people lost their Temple two thousand years ago, and were exiled, it was very dark. But added light comes from the darkness, and Israel survived miraculously through all the dark times, and became a light to the nations, as we look forward to the light of Redemption.

Darkness can be a vehicle for tremendous light.
